We extended our house and as a part of this required a new kitchen. We visited the Wren kitchens in Sheffield and the initial aspect of our experience with them was good, the kitchen was designed, priced up and ordered.
Wren visited the house and did a pre-fit assessment to ensure the kitchen including flooring were suitable for our property and the kitchen was given the green light for installation.
From this point the experience went steeply downhill. The products arrived to be installed, midway through the installation we were informed by our fitter that the floor ordered and supplied through Wren would not be suitable for our floor due to the floor being off level (Despite nothing being noted in the pre-fit by Wren).
I contacted Wren and was informed this wouldn't be an issue and a refund would be organized. What they failed to inform me was that the refund would only be for the installation cost and as "there is no issue with the product itself" they would not be refunding this and we were going to be left with almost £2000 worth of flooring we were unable to install. I spoke to Wren at least 2-3 times a week for a month. Each time being told the customer service agent would chase it up before never hearing from them again. Finally after escalating the call to the highest level possible they finally agreed to refund the floor, minus a 20% restocking fee which cost us almost £400!!
With the kitchen almost fully installed we thought our problems were almost over, until Wren informed us that the wiring of electrical items such as the stove and ovens was not included in their installation price. We organised this ourself and finally our kitchen was in.
We were in the process of clearing out all of the boxes left over from some of the products to find the extractor tubing had not been installed by our fitter, again contacting Wren they informed us this wasn't part of the installation they offer but could be organized at a supplementary cost!!
Overall Wren pain a picture of being a big, bespoke kitchen company with great customer service, however the second you sign for your kitchen expect hidden costs and shocking customer service. Not what you expect when you spend almost £25,000 on a kitchen.
Save yourself money and stress and go literally...
Read moreWe visited Wren Sheffield for as we wanted a new kitchen the designer sat with us on several appointments to make our kitchen exactly how we wanted it. They sent out a design surveyor that measured the kitchen so the designer could make sure everything fitted perfectly! The kitchen was delivered Saturday prior to it getting fitted the Monday. We was told everything was there. Once fitting was commenced we hit nightmare after nightmare. The kitchen did not fit, it overlapped the window by an inch. The worktop didn't fit we have had to have a stud wall built. Fridge did not fit the space designed for it and we now have to wait a week for it to be collected and refunded. (Was sent a link for AO to buy another one when we called) appliances have not been delivered and we need to wait until December . We have 3 children in the house and they think it's acceptable to leave us with no hob as it's not an "essential appliance!" What should have taken 3 days for a kitchen fitting has now got a finish time of 5 weeks. Absolutely disgusting customer service from the store once they had taken the money they are not bothered about rectifying anything even though its designer error they pass you to customer service call centre. We logged a complaint with customer service and was told a manager would be on the case and would hear something back that day, still waiting for a reply...
Read moreGreat kitchen, love the worktops and the appliances. What let's it down is the after sales. There is none. When I had he kitchen delivered it was checked and signed for. As I'm not a kitchen fitter, it seemed easier to count the amount of boxes and packages and tally it up with the checklist. I wasn't to know that I had been sent an extra kickboard instead of fillers as the packaging basically is the same. I didn't find this out until 6 weeks later when my kitchen was finally ready to go in my new extension. Apparently though it turned out as being my fault (Not the picker who selected the goods for me off their shelves) They did kindly give me a discount off some new fillers so in the end I only had to pay 150% of the price in order to get what I originally asked for. I had heard of their shocking service but as I own my own shop I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt but alas the stories were true. Both of my parents have been in recently to look at kitchen in their own houses but because of the way I've been treated, they are going to go to Howdens as suggested by their prospective fitters. Sad really when all it would have cost them is £200 to get their...
