My daughter, myself and my 2 grandchildren came to eat at lunchtime 11/1/25 which we always do when visiting crystal peaks. Our order was taken by Darvin who got himself in a muddle with the till when taking our order and said he wasnt sure how to do children's build it yourself menu. We felt a little sorry for him at this point, which soon changed when we received our meals. We said the child's chicken burger has barbecue sauce on which we'd asked for no sauce it was taken away and replaced halfway through the meal . I asked for mushy peas and got garden peas , my granddaughter was having extra chips which didn't arrive till we mentioned it . The lasagne my daughter ordered with garlic bread and extra side of fries arrived without the garlic bread when my daughter asked for her garlic bread she was met with a hostile response for Darvin who said you only get either chips or garlic bread. My daughter explained she'd asked for garlic bread with the lasagne, and chips were paid for as an extra , but the young man was having non of it he argued she'd worded it wrong when ordering which she hadn't as I was with her at the bar . He continued to argue with her in front of a pub full of customers and the children who were distressed. In the end he brought 2 small pieces of baguette which didn't looked cooked., then we had to ask for cutlery .We were so upset it spoilt our meal and time together as a family. This young man firstly needs to learn some manners , till training when taking food orders and badly needs customer service training. Dawn Rollins , her daughter and grandchildren very...
Read moreI went to The Milestone today Sunday 8th of June 2025 around 3.15pm as i was passing and the local Wetherspoons was very busy. I have been in previously over the years including when it was first built. I must say the place is run down and needs a full refurbishment. Anyway i was greeted by a friendly enough Barmaid and i ordered a pint of Morretti which was flat not very cold and served in a glass that appeared dirty. I ordered the £11.99 Battered Fish and Chips with mushy peas as another table had ordered this so i thought i would give it a try. It was brought to my table by a young pleasant enough Barmaid. Totally dissapointing the chips not very warmand bone dry the Fish Batter was hot and crispy the fish grey pink coloured and the Mushy Peas were Bone Dry and Clock Cold i don't think they ever touched the Microwave. The table was sticky and two blokes sat two tables away did nothing but Eff and Blind every other word during their conversation. Trust me i can can turn out foul language where appropriate. This was a very dismal experience and i won't be going again. When this Pub was first built and Managed by the Brewery it was lovely but it has become just like a rough Council Estate Boozer. I hate putting out negative reviews but this really was the pits. I hope things can be turned around as two other close by Pubs have...
