What a smashing pool! The 25m, heated pool is over 100 years old, originally starting life as a brewing reservoir for the cider brewery next door. The staff are friendly and helpful, telling us that until recently the pool was heated by the brewing process! Despite its long history the pool is immaculately clean, the water was probably around 25° when we visited, and the site is well maintained. Lockers are available on site, traditional changing cubicles with hot showers and toilets, a tuck shop, picnic tables, children's play area, and an additional small pool for toddlers means that there's something for everyone. Parking is free, although I assume that the car park will fill quickly on hot days. We went for a lane swim - one fast, two medium, and a double-width slow lane were available with a very attentive life guard looking on throughout. We really enjoyed our visit 💕

What a beautiful pool. Wheel chair access and ramps as well as good for children too. 0.9 metres in the shallow end to 2 metres at the deep end. Attentive life guard on duty at all times.it is heated but still cool. It was 22 when we were there. Seating areas around the edges. Children's pool and a fountain play area. Café does snacks and drinks. It's clean and tidy. Close car park at front. Toilets and showers as well as lockers.

Amazing pool and the staff are all absolutely lovely and so helpful and friendly too. We do the yearly Dogswim at the end of the season and it’s our favourite place too go because the whole atmosphere is brilliant. Highly recommended this place whether for a dog swim or a human swim.

The 25 metre outdoor lido in Shepton Mallet and run by Fusion and has booked sessions (best to book in advance and you do NOT have to be a member) is hidden away in a modern housing estate and how many locals even know it is there!! booked for the lane swimming (one fast lane, two medium lanes and a double slow lane) - a bit chilly but it was not a warm day but is heated - great changing rooms and drench showers and toilets - there is a smaller pool for children Tables and chairs to sit at and also a small cafe - on the bus route 174 and run by First bus and is an hourly service currently (Bath to Wells - Shaftgate Avenue from Bath and Pike Lane from Wells) and just walk along Shaftgate Avenue - no signs and even when you arrive it is not well signposted and there is a small car park- Friendly staff...

Really lovely little lido, nice friendly staff. Very strict on pool entry times with zero flexibility and the 1hour sessions don't necessarily make for the most relaxing visit. Cost is substantial incomparison to general swimming pools. We had a teenager who had to self isolate, so would have preferred to visit when she could join us but got informed it says in the terms and conditions no refunds and tickets not transferable, which was disappointing in these current times £16 for 1 adult and 2 children..... All the slots were sold out for our Saturday as it was a heatwave, so I'm sure they wouldn't have ended out of pocket. All said it is nice to be able to...
