DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP. I have nothing but negative things to say about this "shop". The job I needed done was a new catalytic converter for my 1985 Camaro. I went in there around noon and the guy at the counter. (I believe his name was Dave, don't quote me on that) I asked questions like, would the stock flanges be cut off? How much would it cost? What kind of warranty? To all those questions I was given shady, vague answers. I came back some time later, after he told me to come back in 30 minutes. I brought my father to ask more questions. I asked about how the new converter would be held in. The guy asked another worker and then he told me that it would be welded or clamped, whatever would hold it. I asked a few more questions, and after the worker at the desk had to turn around to ask his boss after each question, I knew he was an ignorant, clueless mechanic. I explained how I brought back my car for them to look at it, to which he shrugged, went to the fridge in the back, grabbed some barbecue sauce, set it on the table and walked into the shop. He got in a silver trailblazer and just left. With nobody telling me or my father what was going on, we decided not to ask the other stooges, who were eating lunch at a table, not giving any concern to the waiting customers 7 feet away from them. I would never recommend this shop to any person. They are lazy, unprofessional slobs, who know slim to nothing when it comes to basic questions about their work. Now I am off to find a shop who will actually value their customer and give me confidence that the job will be done right. How anybody gives this shop business...

So I said to him can you out a new muffler on my VW Jetta and without even blinking my eye he laughed and said no not a chance. I asked why? Isn't that what you guys do here? His response was yes but you don't own a race car kid. I said well I am the customer can't you please. He laughed again and said fine bring your car around so I did then handed him the keys and he put it on the lifted which after he said without even looking at my car that it is going to be over a thousand just for the parts. Cuz he still wants to put the stock muffler on. I said no I can't I don't have it he laughed and spit dip on the ground right at my feet. I cant even begin to describe how mad I was. Don't spit right in front of me. Don't go to Affton brake and muffler unless you want to be treated like an idiot. He also said he wasn't interested in talking to me ever again until I was thinking clearly since I didn't want the stock...
Read moreTook my car in to get a new O2 sensor bung welded into my exhaust, simple enough. I received a call from Steve stating that he was able to get the old one tapped out but that the threads on the new sensor were already hosed, so he could get it done if I brought a new O2 sensor in, for $30... good so far. Took a new sensor down thinking it would be a simple thing to get done: chase the threads out with a tap, screw in new sensor, make the connection, and be done. It took over an hour, still no big deal, but when he came back in for me to pay he said that my flex pipe was broken... and said it was probably a result of me taking out my old O2 sensor. This would have been all fine and good except for the fact that my flex pipe was fine before taking it in to Affton Brake and Muffler. I was then informed that it would cost $125 to fix.
I like to patronize local businesses as opposed to the big chains, which is why I drove out of my way to go here, but this place has lost any amount of faith I initially had in them. I recommend...
