My wife and I used to be regular shoppers at this Kroger until today when I had the misfortune of seeing Kelly the manager in action. My wife and I were purchasing 600 pounds of food, water, paper products and cleaning supplies (the max my plane will hold) to take down to Freeport Grand Bahama‘s to help out the victims of the hurricane, most of whom have lost almost everything they had. This will be our second trip, the first one was both heartwarming and heartbreaking. We don’t have a lot, but with the help of donations from some of our friends and local merchants like Walmart and Food Lion we’ve been able to put together a good bit of stuff to give to people who have nothing. It doesn’t solve all their problems, but for a couple days a few of them get some decent meals and some fresh drinking water. I had the first shopping cart filled when I went to ask if possibly Kroger might help out a little with the bill. The Walmart in Edgefield, God bless them, gave me $100, Food Lion offered up 20 bucks. For the second trip, the Walmart in North Augusta gave me a 10% discount. Every single penny goes right back into additional food. Although it’s a little embarrassing to ask, the cause is good so I put it out there just in case. I initially spoke to an assistant manager and plead my case. She in turn went over to Kelly the manager who obviously didn’t realize I was standing nearby watching. When the assistant manager told her what I asked, the look of disgust on her face tore at my heart. I saw her shake her head somewhat angrily and walk away. The assistant manager came back over and offered a feeble excuse that the manager of the store didn’t have the ability to offer a discount and although they are given a supply of gift cards for such a purpose they had already used them up for the year. It wasn’t the fact that they turned me down that hurt my feelings as much as it was the visual attitude projected by the manager. My new mission once we get back from dropping off the food, which I purchased from Walmart at full price, is to let everybody know just how rude and uncaring Kelly the manager is. If there’s someplace else you can go to shop, I ask you to do so because I found out today customer service at Kroger is overseen by an...
Read moreI have shopped at Kroger in Alexandria LA, Shippensburg PA, Grovetown GA, Evans GA, Atlanta GA and Macon GA. If it were possible, I would rank this store negative10. The handicap parking is completely inadequate! It is not necessary to have a full sized parking space in between each handicapped space. (Management should take a field trip to the Walmart on Edgefield Rd for parking lot design tips.) I received a parking ticket last Wednesday (11/24) for parking in the lined space between handicapped spaces. I drove around the parking lot THREE times in an effort to find a handicapped space. I noticed other vehicles parking the way that I did. The ClikList area needs to be moved to the far right end of the store. I am UNABLE to walk from the back of the parking lot to the store. I have a current handicap tag on my truck. The responsibility falls to the store management to assure that customers needs are met - that includes the parking lot. This store fails miserably! The Pharmacy is another point of contention. They seem to only answer the phone when they feel like it. I tried numerous times today to reach a pharmacy employee and each time my call went unanswered. Finally I tried the main store switchboard and was connected to the pharmacy that way. I was a Kroger Pharmacy customer at a Macon store for more than 25 years. When I moved to North Augusta from Appling GA I was glad to discover a Kroger here. There seems to be customer service related issues with the pharmacy management. It's frustrating every month to get my prescriptions processed. I stay with Kroger only because based on past experiences, Kroger is the lesser of all evils. I'm sad to say there is much room for improvement at...
Read moreUnfortunately there have been several occasions with rude employees. Don't ask for help because they'll roll their eyes and act like you are bothering them. Ladies at customer service are not friendly at all. My husband and I were standing in line not even paying attention to what the employee and customer were doing. We were having our own conversation. The employee told us to back up we were too close. We did this and I said to my husband that nobody has ever said anything before( I get it's for privacy, but I always have people standing next to me and nobody says a word) and the employee rudely says "well the lines starts down there." That's when I noticed the sign that states to stand there. New sign, never seen it before. She didn't have to be rude. I was talking to my husband about not seeing the sign before and that it must be new, I didn't say anything to her. Honestly I wasn't paying attention to how close we were, because my husband and I were talking about other things. It wasn't intentional. Another time an item rang up wrong. Sign stated buy rotisserie chicken and get Pepsi mini cans for $1.00. Rang up $1.00 off. I showed the lady at customer service the sign stating for $1.00, no where did it say $1.00 off. She told me I was wrong and it was $1.00 off. Manager did fix it, but it was a very unpleasant experience. The employees need more customer service training. Customers shouldn't be made to feel like they are bothering the employees by asking questions and it wouldn't hurt to be a little friendlier. I have always loved shopping at Kroger, but lately I feel like the attitudes of the employees...
