I had an aweful experience tonight at the Diablos on Knox Avenue. When I first pull up we see a sign on the door that says that they’re short staffed and to be patient. After seeing that it was not a problem for me to expect a bit of a wait. But after ordering my food and I’m checking out, one customer who is dining in came up to the cash register and returned her bowl because she was saying there was something wrong with her chicken and the manager handled that. But then I get home after ordering a chicken bowl to go with cheese dip on top I noticed a very strong peanut smell coming from my bowl. After further investigation come to find out the cheese dip smells like straight peanut oil to which I am allergic. After taking one bite from my bowl my tongue began to swell up and my roommate had to administer an EpiPen. On top of it all, that one bite I had was very unpleasant due to the overwhelming peanut flavor coming from the cheese dip. Now I’m not sure what was wrong with the cheese dip but it made me almost go into anaphylactic shock and my roommate, who ate more than I did, ended up projectile vomiting for the rest of the evening. This type of food coming out of a major chain is so very unacceptable. And I was highly disappointed in spending $20 on what was supposed to be a dinner turned almost a trip to the hospital. I hope you guys can figure out a way to resolve this issue with that store as well as with me as a customer because this is definitely a very unpleasant experience that needed...
Read moreI used to love Diablos. But lately, the service/issues I've had at the North Augusta location have been terrible the last 4 times I've been there. I go for lunch, not dinner. They're NEVER prepared for the lunch rush. I usually go between 11am and noon. They've been out of chips, out of a lot of basic ingredients - leaving them fumbling around and going back and forth to the cooler or kitchen (three times one visit while trying to complete ONE order for me). Ordered online one time and everything we got was about half sized portions compared to normal, even when I asked for extra steak. The last time I went, at 11am, they were completely out of steak. Not a mention of "we have to cook more, if you want to wait", it was just "sorry, we're out of steak, but we have pork or chicken or spicy chicken on the way". I'm sorry but how is a place like Diablos OUT OF A PROTEIN?? I'm just sad because I loved Diablos, even more than Chipotle. But, until they get their $#!t together, I'll go elsewhere. Even the staff (the few members I see behind the counter) appear...
Read moreI've legitimately never had a good experience here. The only thing that's kept me coming back is the fact that Chipotle doesn't have raw onion. Honestly, I don't even care anymore.
When we first dined in, the soda machine was broken and leaking onto the floor. Nothing had been done about it, and the entire dining room was sticky. Add that to several soda types being empty and no one changing them.
My follow-up experiences were via Uber Eats. The first time, I didn't get everything I ordered. Tonight, I requested chipotle ranch and heavy onions on my burrito. Did not get them.
Also, I requested two spicy and one mild salsa cups. These were options right on the order, so it definitely went through. They sent out a single cup of salsa, and it came with a bag of chips that was about 1/3 full.
It's sad that this location is this horrible — because I've liked the company...
