We have used this pharmacy for years. At times they have been fairly good at refilling prescriptions on time and at managing long lines at pharmacy. Other times they are way less than stellar. I know things happen sometimes that can’t be controlled, but recently the way they have treated me and my physician is alarming and appalling. Yesterday my doctor tried three times to call in a prescription for me and each time they put him, or whoever was doing the calling for him, on hold for 10 to 15 minutes then hung up on him. I have had this same thing happen to me several times. I finally had to drive back to my doctor’s office to pick up a written prescription and then take it to the pharmacy. My visit to WG pharmacy prior to this was the most frustrating and disappointing experience I think I have had with them. My doctor had given me a coupon to purchase 10 Brevaly tablets (6 refills) for $10 instead of the normal price of more than $1000 for 10 pills. The first time I picked it up there was no problem. 10 pills for $10. The second time I went to pick up Brevaly I was told 5 different reasons I could not use the coupon and get the discount. Each time I went to attempt to get the prescription I was told to bring back “a different polished turd” so to speak. My doctor’s office told me that patients with my insurance use this same coupon in Augusta at WG all the time. I called the drug manufacturing company. Same answer from them. The fifth visit to WG to get Brevaly I was armed with the knowledge that they could find a way to make this happen. Pharmacist called number on back of Brevaly discount card and like magic I was able to pay 10 for 10. Why did I have to make 5 visits to get this prescription and why did 3 people give me 5 different reasons it could not be done!?? Why didn’t they just call the company who provided the coupon in the first place. I am switching to Publix. Anywhere has to be...
Read moreI have one medication that the way its worded to take verse the amount given i run out like 5 days or so before the end of the month. Everything was worked out with the pharmacists and a lady helping at the register, because of the way the prescription is worded he could fill it with no issues he said and everything was fine. Last month I went in that pharmacist was on vacation and I didn't see the original lady that helped me either. So a new lady helped me that I hadn't seen before, she was argumentative and kept telling me I was wrong and basically just talking to me like I was stupid and didn't know what I was talking about. I tried to explain it to the new pharmacist and the other lady kept talking over me. Finally the original lady came out of no where and presto all fixed and I got my prescription. So fast forward to today and I get that other lady again at the window, I tell her I need to refill it and she starts arguing with me again, I tried to explain to her I had my doctor send a new prescription that increased the quantity to avoid these issues and she just kept talking over me, telling me it was to early, just being rude and belligerent. Then she would walk off to the side and talk crap to the pharmacist about me and I called her out on it. Finally the pharmacist came over and I went through what the prescription issue was she looked at it and said ok give me 15 mins to fill it, nice and easy no issues. The other woman I didn't get her name off he jacket because they had a different lady check me out which was very nice, but they need to do some serous customer service training with...
Read moreThis location needs serious attention from upper management, not store level. Possibly a changeover in staff is needed. Clearly, due to all the other reviews, their customer service skills is simply lacking. Two days ago, I went to pharmacy to pick up my called in meds around 530pm. There were 10 frustrating customers already in front of me complaining checkout was extremely slow. My turn comes, and they don't have all my meds ready. Said they were backed up and it might be two hours or even next morning before I could pick up. Next day, I called in going to see if they were ready. I had not received notification. I was on hold 1 hr, 24 minutes. Started off as 3 people ahead of me, then I was next in line. I was hold as I finally drove to the pharmacy. It was 4:24pm. They were closed at 4pm with a note on the window. No one bothered to pick up the phone since I was next in line. Frustrated, I left to go to another pharmacy. They told me they couldn't fill with my insurance rates it Walgreens had it "holding" in pending insurance status. I called Walgreens back and got a rude person on the phone. I simply asked if another open Walgreens could release my order and she said 'I dunno". So in order to not wait another day, I went to a small home town pharmacy with excellent customer service and paid out of pocket to get my meds. Cheers to Hibbett's Pharmacy in New Ellenton. It's now the 3rd day, and I have still yet to receive a notification from Walgreens. Something is going on with this store and it needs to...
