I used to love this place and for Veterinary service, I would say they are top notch. That being said their kennel staff are incompetent and neglectful. I left my dog Hali in their care for a few weeks while moving. I called multiple times to check on my dog and see if she was eating and multiple times I was assured that she was doing very well.. contrary to this when I went to pick up my dog, she had lost well over 20 lbs and was sick with kennel cough..basically pneumonia that is rather contagious. At the time I picked her up the kennel tech had told me that Hali had been eating very well but she hadn't been doing well at first which is contrary to everything else I had been told. Also I had got the impression from her that my dog may have nipped her or something she showed signs of fear toward my dog and it was obvious that she had basically just been left in the cage the entire time. Hali was skin and bones her nails were long and her fur looked matted and poorly kept... not to mention the fact that she had kennel cough pneumonia. Previous to dropping the dog off I had posed concerned that Hali had a tendency of not eating when I was not around as well as being skittish due to an injury (gator attack) and that she will bite when scared.. it is my assertion that this either scared the tech or Hali nipped her and then the tech neglected her subsequently. Of course when I asked about this I was told that absolutely nothing happened and that she was a delight, I was so happy to pick up my dog and head to New York that between my excitement and the dogs rather thick fur I did not even notice the severity of the weight loss until we were on the road. This is of course when I also noticed the continual snotting and coughing. I'm very sad that this happened as I had much respect for this institution with many years of happiness service specifically did the way that they took care of her after her alligator attack but of course this is a separate issue. The only recommendation I can make is that I would not kennel any animal here for an extended period of time. Obviously Hali could not get cared for until we drove the 1200 miles to New York and made her an appointment at her N.Y. vet. After I brought the dog to the vet in New York and kennel cough was confirmed I did call Aloma Yancey and speak to them about this because I wanted to know how this could possibly happen at a veterinarian's office that which she is supposed to be under supervision. I was informed that kenneling and veterinary services are separate and that there would be no cause to give the dog any examination as she was presenting no symptoms which is absolute nonsense as I noticed these symptoms within an hour of picking her up. This I find highly neglectful I only wish that I had taken the time to write this review a little sooner. I expect their Emergency Services are still acceptable but I find their kennel conditions appalling. Thanks for almost killing my best friend and potentially infecting the 2 other dogs she was in contact with before I could get her proper care in...
Read moreAwful awful experience. The workers were totally rude and unprofessional. This was my first time going to this vet and I just got my puppy a few days ago. Today he started having a little blood in his stool so I set up an appointment here immediately. When I got there, the check in was fairly quick but then it took forever for the vet assistant to come in the room despite there only being one other family in a room. First, I look around our room and there was blood and dog nail clippings all over the room. Extremely unsanitary. Meanwhile my new puppy was sleeping on my boyfriends lap next to me. As soon as the vet assistant came in he looked at my dog he just laughed. And he wasn’t laughing and then like oh your dogs cute, he laughed and then proceeded to say “I’m not laughing at you dog” and then whispered “yes I’m laughing at your dog”. So that to begin with to me was extremely unprofessional. I’ve never written a review for anyone and again if he was friendly about it I wouldn’t think anything but he laughed and said it in such a judgmental way. Then as I’m trying to explain why I’m there, a lady who appeared to be an actual vet cut me off and asked to speak with the assistant which I also found the way she did it to be rude. The assistant came back two minutes later saying that the vet I was supposed to see “went home sick” and that I was not able to see anyone. After I scheduled an appointment and drove here they couldn’t have called to let me know. I told him well it’s serious is there any other vet I could see and he said not until tomorrow morning. When I left I saw the vet that spoke to him speaking to the family that was in the room next to me. So I’m wondering if I had an appointment which I said was serious, why they told me they couldn’t see me when there was a vet in the next room. And if the vet who left truly was their only vet, how does your only vet leave early when you have other appointments for the day? Overall totally unprofessional experience. And for there to be blood and a ton of dog nail clippings on the ground is extremely unsanitary and if they keep their rooms like that and display that level of unprofessionalism I can’t imagine what other concerning things go on with how they treat dogs. Now my dog wasn’t able to see a vet and I have school and work the rest of the week and now I’m worried for his health and when I will be able to get him checked out. Completely and utterly...
Read moreIf I could've given negative stars, I would. We brought our dog here because her time here with us was becoming very hard on her... My fiancé had 13 wonderful years with her and it was so hard on the whole family. Anyone would want a peaceful stress free last day with their family member. It was very hard on our dog to make trips to the vet, it would always stress her out. NEVER have I ever in my life had such a traumatic experience than I did with this place. Do not bring your animals here unless you want to feel as though you're inconveniencing someone's day. That is how we felt when we walked in. We waited in the lobby for 20 minutes after our appointment time. In the meantime our dogs anxiety was sky high(something you would not want for your dog before they pass). Finally we were brought in to an exam room, in which the vet tech asked "why are you here?" You should already know what the appointment is for and not have to ask us to repeat that we were there to put our dog to rest. He was the most unfriendly, detached person I have ever come across. I get that you're probably desensitized by the job, but at least make it seem like you care, even if it's just a little. I'm not going to get in to detail about the actual euthanasia, I will just say the sedative sent our dog in to a GRAND MAL SEIZURE. This happened when no one was in the room but my fiancé, mother in law, and I. I ran out of the room crying for help, every one just stopped and looked at me like I was stupid, to which I yelled "can someone do something she's convulsing on the table!" Still everyone just stood there, even the receptionist looked at me, walked in to a room, and came back out and said "what?" That is when the most appalling of all happened, the VET came running towards the room with an uncapped needle of the last dose. (Crazy right? I couldn't believe what I saw either.)Then replies "huh, she probably had a brain tumor! Have you ever had an MRI done?" Well let's see, she's been your patient for the last few years... This was her FIRST ever seizure.... You caused us what was supposed to be a peaceful passing, in to the worst possible situation that could've ever happened. I will definitely make sure that any one I know, NEVER uses...
