Typically I donât do reviews like never this is my first and probably last review. So me and my coworkers went to this restaurant for lunch today and I arrived a bit late because i had to stay at the office to finish up with a resident. When i got to the restaurant i sat down with my coworkers who had already received their food after sitting there for about 7 mins and no one bothered to bring me a menu or even ask if i wanted something to drink. Finally one of my coworkers asked for me a menu and i proceeded with ordering my food. The food arrived very quickly which was nice but the food is not why im writing this review. Once my appetizer arrived I believe the owner who brought it out rudely told me to move my napkin i donât know what my napkin has to do with him sitting my food down but ok. Then my pho bowl arrived I am guessing he assumed that I didnât know how to eat Vietnamese food and asked me do you know how to eat in a rude manner as if because Iâm am of a different Ethnicity I didnât know how to get Vietnamese food. Iâm sure he would not have know that i was a chef by my clothing and that I have tried many different cuisines however even if he didnât know i am an experienced chef that was not something you tell a guest at your restaurant. Then after eating the food i notice it wasnât any basil so i asked for some well the owner jokingly said why are you being so demanding. Now, i do not know you, and whether or not it was a joke it was offensive and should have been avoided. After i ate we paid and left as I am walking out the door he turns to me and says you need to have a better day. I donât know what gave him the impression I wasnât but after dealing with the service there i can see why he would say that. Long story short food not so good Viet-Nomz is way better and itâs not really an upscale restaurant. Service is horrible unless you are the ânormâ...
Read moreThis was my second visit and first review for Saigon Flavors. The menu is broad with multiple offerings of appetizers (we chose the summer rolls with shrimp for me, and shrimp & pork for my friends. Delicious with a pnut dip for $3.95 each. Oh the selection of phĂČ will get you going with 10 options! I prefer the shrimp, my buddy liked the rare beef strip. The broth was spiced nicely, not picante although be and I add hot sauce to it! They have a papaya mango salad that is really refreshing on a hot day, and 7 other tangy options. From the chef's specialities I recommend the yellow curry with chicken and the red curry with beef. Their version is kinda orange and comes with broccoli and the beef, and it was a little sweeter than what I am used to in Los Angeles but good all the same. There are 8 options for fried rice - my favorite is the pineapple fried rice with shrimp. Our waiter, Justin, was the best. Ask for him when you visit! On the dessert menu there is white chocolate cheese cake, chocolate mousse ice cream cake, piña colada cake or banana flambĂ© with caramel dribbled vanilla ice cream. From the picture below, you can tell which one I chose! All in all a great visit with great food, I highly...
Read moreSaigon Flavors is truly a lovely place. I love Vietnamese and they do it right. Everything is Super Fresh and they have a great assortment to choose from it's almost hard to pick just one meal. They even offer Boba milk teas which are one of my favorite things in the world. My sister got a young coconut drink and it was really fresh as well. I got a pho dish with seafood although I guess I would slightly complain got it seems like the noodles weren't all the way cooked. Maybe they are going for Al Dente but it didn't seem intentional although the seafood itself was delicious. We also got summer rolls and I have to say they have the best peanut sauce of anywhere I've been. I literally ate some of it straight. And when my sister wanted more bean sprouts they jump to the opportunity and were quick to bring them out. My mom didn't say much about her food but she seem to like it so I think we were all very pleased. I would recommend Saigon Flavors to anyone looking for Vietnamese or just general exotic food or fresh or healthy food. They really have a lot going for them so...
