I waited 24 hours to post this because I didn't want to leave a review while I was angry.
On the positive side, prices seem fair and the location is nice.
the salad and soup were average.
And the server was working hard. there appeared to be only one person doing service for the sit-down customers and she was working hard.
I ordered a dish of sashimi that was quite tasty. everything was fresh.
however, my wife ordered the hibachi shrimp teriyaki. it was flavorless. there was not a hint of teriyaki. there was barely a hint of any seasoning whatsoever.
we reported this to the server and she had to text with a manager who wasn't on site who said that we could be reserved the same food after re-seasoning or we could receive a discount. we chose discount since we didn't want to be reserved the same food. when we got the bill the discount was very small and did not reflect the fact that we left most of the food on the plate because it simply wasn't seasoned.
The kitchen and the off site manager made this a less than satisfactory visit.
The music was also turned up exceptionally loud so that it was difficult to talk. this was in contrast to some reviews that said the restaurant was exceptionally quiet.
I hope that they will get a manager on site who can oversee the kitchen and customer service issues more...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Miyako but we have been to the sister location Fujiyama many times.
This visit occurred around 6PM on Father's Day so to say they were busy may be a slight understatement.
The group included myself, my girlfriend and her parents.
We had edemame followed by soup and salad for her parents.
Meals were shrimp w/ garlic sauce Bento box, sushi/sashimi combo for her parents. We had Nabeyaki Udon and Mongolian Beef & a side of ramen. We also shared a spicy tuna roll, Kamikaze roll and an Amazing roll.
The meal was served in a timely manner and the presentation was perfect. The food was simply amazing!
Overall the dinner was great!
My only negatives are with the fact that booth benches are not secured in any way so it can be a bit of a push - pull situation between parties to get adequate room at each table, and the tables themselves are too small for a party of 4 to eat without having to rearrange their plates often.
Table seating also seems tight but would be better for groups of 3 or more.
The small negatives wouldn't stop be from returning though.

Read moreBeen coming here for a few years. That being said I hope they turn things around. Last few times ordered and ate here quality had been slipping. This time I Went in for a Saturday lunch. One other couple inside the place. So including me 3 total people. Ordered 2 rolls and one order of sashimi. A few minutes later 4 more people came in sat down and ordered. 20 minutes later both other tables were served. The waitress came by my table 3 times and hurried back to the sushi bar. Not one word said to me. Finally after waiting 30 minutes and seeing the other tables eating I asked what was happening. The waitress said let me check and ran back to the sushi bar again. After another 10 minutes I complained again and the chef or manager or owner came over and apologized. He then tells me they’re about to start my order. I was in shock. Not one word until then and then come to find out they forgot about my order. Left after a wasted 40 minutes and still hungry. Hope they get their stuff together. A lot of places go under bc of lack of simple customer service and...
