Plato's Closet Waterford Lakes — Local services in Alafaya

I appreciate the kindness of most of the workers, hence the given number of stars. In a previous visit last year, I came in with a couple of nicely folded and clean clothing (some mine, some family members). The sales associate up front told me that they are currently taking "Fall" pieces only so they ended up rejecting the majority of the clothes in my bags. Keep in mind: They were definitely Fall-applicable pieces, containing things like sweaters and light jackets. So she hands me my bags back in a terrible state of disarray and only buys these VS PINK "Beach Please" slippers. Which is strange because... those are not really Fall appropriate at all. The bag of clothes was also returned with a ripped handle.

On my latest and probably my last visit, they rejected all of the pieces in my bags and claimed that they were out of season and/or style. I saw a couple of items in-store while waiting that looked almost exactly like the items in my bags. The associate told me that it would take 20 minutes to look through the bags but it was probably less than 7 minutes. Overall, my past experiences have been hit or miss. I would have had a more satisfying experience if they handled my items with more TLC and have been more upfront with the clothing buying process.

I had a very good experience here after a terrible one on OBT(reviewed them) The purpose of my trip to Alafaya trail was to visit Style Encore another buy sell shop that I would also recommend. I would have never returned to Plato’s if it wasn’t right next to that style encore. After they selected some items I headed to this Plato’s closet which was right next door like let me see what their energy is like. I didn’t have high hopes because I was treated SO poorly at another. I also knew that some of my stuff was dated and might not meet fashion trends which was ok. My expectation is not to walk out with empty bags and hundreds of dollars! I know in my right mind they do not have to buy these things! I was there so I said let’s give it another try. The best part of my experience was that it took less than an hour! I really thought the standard might be 3-5 hours. The staff was super friendly and their check in process efficient.They purchased most of my items which was surprising to me, since the last Platos declined based on “styles”, lies but whatever. Upon paying me out a staff member said you had some really cute stuff. I agreed and was happy to share that moment and have that reassurance since my first experience was just disrespectful. They made me want to shop and sell and I will definitely...

THEY ALMOST STOLE MY $200 DRESS. SUCH a joke, I am serious. I visited this store on 09/16/24 at around 12pm. I brought in a bunch of VERY nice name brand clothes to sell (btw my clothes were wayyy nicer and in muchhh better condition than what’s on the racks… just saying lol). To put into perspective, my huge (very nice) bundle of clothes + shoes included a dress that I was trying to sell them that had the tag on it ($198!!!), a never worn pair of black converse sneakers, numerous Princess Polly dresses in excellent condition, etc. I still expected them to rip me off, and would have walked out happily with $100 (even though that would’ve truly been a rip off too). They offered me $13 and change for ALL OF IT 😂 They just HAD to be stingy and try to STEAL my $198 dress. Um… no ma’am. Also, I showed the employee the dress on the website I bought it. It is still selling full price on the website for $198, they didn’t care 😂 (and for all I know, that dress would have never made it on the rack and maybe the employees wanted it for FREE, essentially). I’M YOUNG BUT MY PARENTS RAISED ME SMART 😂😂😂 I really was going to give them a chance, but they had to be stingy. Sell your stuff on Depop and protect your peace… this store is pure...
