Red Door Title Group - Title & Escrow Company — Local services in Alafaya

My experience with Red Door Title has been far from pleasant and as a result I will no longer continue to do business with them. They are unprofessional and have no issue with threatening litigation towards you for mistakes they themselves made. I have been in the real estate industry since 2012. Not only have I closed on dozens of investment properties myself, I have also had the pleasure of conducting closings as a real estate agent for dozens of my clients. Never, in all the years I have been working as a professional, have I had an experience like this one. I went in for a closing in May. The entire closing packet was full of errors (such as mortgage payment was listed at $400 instead of $2900, incorrect first payment date, etc). I returned the following week to sign once they were able to fix their mistakes. After finally being able to close they notified me that they had made another error. This time around the ALTA was a mistake which cost me an additional $2,828. This is not a small mistake to make. I twice asked to speak to management but nobody contacted me back. A few days later I received a check in the mail from them for $4.75 to pay me for an overage. I now assumed the mistake was cleared up by management since I didnt hear back from them and received a check in the mail for paying an overage. Now fast forward to today and I received a notice via e-mail that they are placing a lien against my home for not paying the $2,828. To say I was surprised was an understatement. How do I go from owing money, to receiving money from paying too much, to now owing money and a lien being placed against my house? This is not a manner in which you conduct business. Especially not a business that relies heavily on the word of mouth advertisement that we as agents and clients provide. They could have just easily asked for the balance due after which I would have stated my confusion and simply paid. DO NOT USE THIS TITLE COMPANY.

This company is completely unreliable and mismanaged. They sent out insurance premium check for thousands of dollars to the wrong address and now we are having to handle notice of cancellation letters on our insurance policy on the day of a hurricane. This level of mismanagement and egregiously poor quality is unacceptable when you are trusting a company with the critical tasks of legal documents and closing on a home which cannot afford any errors. Do not trust them with your title or your money.

They also use the most poorly rated survey company on Google, and due to their incompetency we had to pay out if pocket for a second survey.

I don't know what is going on at this place but it is completely unacceptable and disappointing. Do not trust them with your affairs, you will regret it.

Update - The response below from the company is completely dismissive of the issues going on here. This company needs to take ownership for sending my insurance check to the wrong address. Shame on you, take responsibility for your mistakes.
