No welcoming. Asked for dine in but get take out. Only us two as customer. Paid for order, with a small tip, but! Wait for food 3 minutes later counter person said I owr $1, as charged for 2 chicken bowl instead of chicken and beef. Go to counter to pay the measly dollar(which cost .50 cents to charge a $1.00 on cc machine) some confusion as counter did not ask gor my card to pay ad I stood there. I see he was making a $1 transaction and had thought recharged the card(no big deal). So went back to wait for sit in order. I see they loaded into a bag (take out?). He calls us to counter and say order is ready. We walk up for the order he ask for the dollar(thought it was paid from my second attempt). Then I explained for me to use my cc the cc company takes .50 cents, besides I tipped more than the dollar. Then the dollar became $1.70 for some reason. As well the one drink we ordered was not ready. I tried to inform that if persons are eating in, as said we were, they expect the full order when say order is ready to come get it. He replied, were working on the drink. Proper customer service is, my apology did not charge correctly, ask for card to pay for it. Or even better sorry, but dont worry about the dollar as a CC transaction will cost .50 cent anyway. I will just use the undeserved tip customer gave. I usually do not tip before I receive my food and service just like it used to be, and for me will be again until further notice. A little verbal communication could have saved a customer. Now back to, No tip until all is delivered as expected. Ignore the tipping request prior to receiving your order,...
Read moreSimilar to Sus Hi Eatstation, J-Petal offers poke-style rice bowls with almost endless customization options.
For example, my custom-order bowl contained sushi rice, tuna, salmon, crab, edamame, mango, carrots, avocado, eel sauce, and spicy mayo, with a side of pickled ginger. Sprinkled with nori and tempura flakes, it overflowed with a lovely combination of sweet, spicy, crunchy, and fleshy texture, making every bite unique and savory. Best of all, the staff offer great service and put your bowl together by hand while you watch, so you can appreciate the creation process before eating your masterpiece.
With over a dozen each of sweet and savory crepes, rolled ice cream, and milk teas (green milk tea with mango popping pearls is to die for!), the only downside of eating at J-Petal is trying to choose what to order! Fortunately, this is one restaurant I'm happy to return to again and again until I've sampled everything and then settled down with my top favorites.
Don't forget to stop by the Rolled Ice Cream shop nearby for a taiyaki after enjoying a lunch or...
Read moreThe J Petal Savory Crepe is delicious.. the crepe itself is sweet and a little fluffy. The toppings were a nice combination of meat and veggies. The only downside is it's very messy to eat, especially towards the bottom.
The salmon signature rice bowl was not that great.. more specifically, the ginger sauce was way too tangy/sour for my taste. It was almost like vinaigrette which was not what I was expecting. I finished it though.. the meat portion was well balanced with the other toppings. I'll have to try creating my own next time.
They have 5 drink selections for their light bulb container.. which you can sample two at once if you choose the split cup. The Thai Tea with Lychee jelly was tasty, nothing wrong with it.
The staff were really friendly and patient. The service was great! The person handling the crepe tore a hole while nearing completion and decided to start with a fresh crepe instead of serving a defective one...
