I freaking love blue market, Ak. It’s a woman owned business. They have fresh baked stuff every day. They have a lot of bulk items. This trip I got seasonings, some focaccia bread, bagels from Motley Crew, bakery at Bean’s Café. The freezer and fridges were stocked full of meat, fish, pasta, and produce. The staff is friendly, kind and educated. I have food allergies and they’re always happy to talk to me about what ingredients go into some of their fresh items like in-house made hummus. I appreciate that. They have some cute little Gifty things too, handmade things by artists all over the state. Soap, lip balm, little felted items. About a year and a half ago I bought the cutest little felted rainbow from here and I love it. If you get that the right time they’re bringing the focaccia bread out of the oven and it’s a beautiful experience. Sometimes they put really yummy stuff in it like garlic and onions.

we love this market! today we came for teas, soaps, shampoos, lotion etc. and we found so many extra sustainable goodies. we love the variety of alaskan products, browsing and trying new things. we also get our cooking oils, spices, ak honey, and dry goods. they have coffee, pastries, fresh baked bread, meats, ice cream. the refill process was a little confusing at first as a beginner but the staff is very friendly and helpful, you can bring your own jars to refill or they have jars for .50¢. it’s a fun way to support alaskan small businesses and also reduce your single use plastics.

My son has become interested in reducing plastic waste and Blue Market was a great place for a field trip. The main staff person was super nice and gave him a tour to talk about all the ways that our family could reduce waste. I gave my phone to my son to take pictures for "ideas" so he took a lot. We walked away with several products, including scones, toothpaste tablets, fresh pasta and maple syrup. Our only complaint was that the ginger beer on tap wasn't strong enough, needed more bite.

Blue Market is hands down one of my favorite spots in Anchorage! I love being able to stock up on essentials like dish soap and laundry pods while also treating myself to something delicious from the bakery counter (they make the best cookies!). There’s always something new and exciting on the shelves, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

Forgot your refillable container? No problem! They have clean vessels available for just 50 cents. Plus, I love that I can drop off jars I no longer need, keeping them out of the landfill. Shopping here is always a feel-good experience, knowing that every product is either locally sourced or comes from a sustainable supplier. If you care about sustainability, quality products, and great service, Blue Market is...

I absolutely love going to The Blue Market. It’s a refreshing little reprieve from conventional shopping spots, and the staff are always incredibly kind and helpful. Be sure to bring your own containers otherwise plan on about $0.50 to 1.00 per container if you purchase from the bulk section.

I stop in almost daily for fresh fruit, and my kids are obsessed with the baked goods. The cinnamon rolls and cookies are amazing. This store truly offers something special. kitchen supplies, household, cleaning goods, jewelry, art and makeup, mostly handcrafted stuff.

The Spenard community is blessed to have such a unique place, and hopefully someday they’ll decide to move to...
