La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Anchorage Airport — Hotel in Alaska

They have spacious rooms available with the best amenities too, iex: microwave and mini fridge not to mention a good hair dryer that gets the job done in under 10mins 😉 Fast and friendly service their STAFF WAS to PAYOBG CUSTOMERS, HOWEVER (!!) THEY WERENT SO HOSPITABLE NOR FRIENDLY TO MY PEERS/GUESTS. They weren't greeted upon entry to the hotel, in fact they were rather "instigated/stereotyped from the start. 2 of my friends, (whom were expected to show) were coming to knock on the hotel room door, when the front desk SIR started with an attitude "excuse me ladies....miss..." (he claims to have mentioned we needed a State ID to visit, however, the two guests couldn't hear him...until they reached their parties hotel room door and had proceeded to knock. The front desk clerk then TELLS US LADIES TO COME DOWNSTAIRS & HAD INSISTED THAT WE WERE SIMPKY IGNORING HIM, WHEN WE TRUTHFULLY COULDNT HEAR HIM WHEN ASKING US FOR OIR ID'S THE FIRST TIME BEFORE GOING OR PROCEEDING TO THE GUESTS ROOM, ONCE WE HAD APPROACHED THE FROTN DESK, I HAD MENTIONED THAT I DIDNT HAVE AN ID -[ SIMPLY BC MY WALLET WAS STOLEN 2WEEKS AGO] HOWEVER BEFORE I WAS ABKE TO EXPLAIN, HE WAS RATHER QUICK AND RUDE TO INTERUPT ME AND SAY " YOU NEED TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY and had even made threats to kick out their newly registered guests in the hotel (whom mind you, hadn't even checked in 30mins prior to this incident)* Honestly, if you like privacy....this is the hotel for you but if your family oriented like myself....may I suggest the Marriott or possibly the Ramada (?) I hands down, PUT THESE WORDS ON EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD ON GODS EARTH- I would NOT (!!) RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANY OF MY FAMILY NOR FRIENDS. First off, I'd have to rate the comfort and the recent renovations of this motel from a old Super 8, into what it is now was well done and giving it a much needed renovation reinvegerated this Spenard staple. That was up until their staff is clearly racist towards Alaskan Natives.

The morning breakfast was adequate and in line with other hotels offering such service. Check-in was very quick, getting my room key and signature and I'm off, is great!

Staff, this is where La Quinta needs improvements. Kudos to Betty who works in the mornings, well liked. Other staff however seem to take patron issues too personally. Your guests are there to get away for a well needed R&R, and shouldn't have to feel belittled, or feel like their being made fun of, case in point, Some of your staff are American Samoan, and while interacting with guests, find it necessary to speak their native tongue, it's without reason some guests may find this offensive, La Quinta should at the respect of all guests adhere to a English only policy when working with or around guests and patrons.

Another issue that arose during my stay was the fact that not everyone works 8am to 5pm. I work as a Retail Merchandiser so I tend to go into stores after closing (11pm to 7am), one morning your staff (big guy, glasses, seems to work 3 days out of the week) ran to the door to meet me, possibly thinking I was some vagrant, asked my room # and abruptly started lecturing and scolding me. Being that I just got off work, it was 5am, and I was tired, he balked at his demands, he therefore chased after me up the stairwell, and came to odds with me, at that point i felt if I wanted to continue with what I thought was right, he was going to very well kick me out of the hotel that very minute, I kindly told him his right, the sun does rise in the east, and sets in the west, and...

Went to check in and the lady in front of us was checking in and the lady at the desk literally almost gave our room away until she realized that wasn’t her and called her by my name and she looked at the front desk lady and was like that’s not even me. We got to our room and our toilet was all messed up after calling down 3 times I walked down and they handed me a plunger so I could fix the toilet. Then that night there was clearly a party happening outside the room of ours and nothing was done about it. Literally screaming/pounding on doors, loud music until 4:30am. We could also hear every single word that was spoken in the room connected to us. The walls are PAPER thin. There were hairs all over the bathroom floors that was 100% not ours and ALL over the bathtub. The next morning we went to get grab n go breakfast for the 3 people in our room and our pass said 3 and the lady gave me 2 breakfasts and then when I asked for a third because we have 3 she said no. Like the sheet literally says we have 3 people but alright. Night 2 we had someone literally swipe into our room and open the door THANK GOD we had the latch on. The next morning we were sort of in a rush to get out and I left my electric toothbrush $150 tooth brush. Called to see if I could get it back and they said it was never turned in. I saw a review about them stealing AirPods and thought it couldn’t have been employees the lady must’ve misplaced them but no the cleaning crews are definitely sketchy and my tooth brush is gone. WILL NEVER stay at this location again. I’m confused how this place has over 4/5 in reviews because it was probably the worst experience I have ever...
