I don't write reviews. But after my time at this place I felt compelled. Let me start by saying that I have purchased in excess of 15K (a guess) at The Anchorage House of Hobbies over many years, starting at the old spenard road location. I spent 1.5 hours at the business during their anniversary event. They were busy and I fully understand this fact but when I finally was able to talk to a counter person, it was quickly apparent that he had no time for me and my questions. This conversation lasted less than a minute when his attention was distracted by something laughable in the back room and he turned and walked away while I was asking a question about purchasing a new RC. I waited for his return and then he looked at me and went to another customer. Did I smell? What the hell just happened? I waited 15 mins for another employee and got similar results, I can't believe this Jim! I left upset and disgusted. I returned two days later and couldn't get a single person to acknowledge me even though I was one of two customers in the store. "ask your local hobby shop?" You won't get any answers at this one anymore. Either no one around or terrible customer service. Just ordered a new E-Revo from a very helpful online store with free shipping to my door! Change something Jim! One more chance is all your going to get from me. It's like your counter peoples time is more important than mine, I am 50 and retired now. Don't have time...
Read moreHad bought a brand new battery for my nephews rc car a traxxas slash. When I purchased the battery and brought it home I tried charging the battery with my traxxas peak dual charger and the battery would not take a charge, it would blink red and beep and do absolutely nothing. I tried balancing and storing and the battery would not do a dang thing. I took it back to get a new one and they inspected the battery and did there volt tests and they said that I had to contact traxxas in order to get a new one. When I contacted traxxas they said that I would need to ship it to someone I know in the lower 48 due to them not being able to have a battery shipped straight to them from up here?? Unfortunately idk anyone in the lower 48 that could do it for me so I’m out 80 bucks and house of hobbies didn’t try helping at all. So all I’m gonna say is before you buy a battery from them, look on Amazon or eBay because then you’ll atleast be able to return it if anything is wrong with it and not have to deal with s* customer service and be able to get your money back unlike me. Won’t be doing business with em anymore if this is how...
Read moreI have been in to house of hobbies many times over the last 6 weeks because I am getting back into running rc trucks and buggies. The staff has been very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Not once has any one tried to sell me somthing I dont need or offered and opinion I havent asked for. They listened to my needs and provided a great solution every time. I have not purchased items every time I go in yet I have been treated like a valued customer, have been given great advice and in the process made some new friends. I will be returning to House of Hobbies and recommending them to friends. Thank you House of Hobbies for making my return to the RC hobby very enjoyable. A special thanks goes out to DC, your knowledge has been such a great resource for me and I really appreciate your time and patience answering all of my questions. I am looking forward to...
