I was on my way home to Indiana after a 5000 mile trip over 8 days on my Road Glide when I experienced a rear wheel bearing failure. Fortunately, I was 15 miles from Bergdale and was able to make it there after the most harrowing 15 miles of riding I've experienced. Once there, it was 2 pm, so I prepared to have to call off of work the next day and stay in a hotel awaiting service. John the service advisor immediately agreed with me that I had likely had a bad wheel bearing, moved things around on his schedule and had a mechanic start on my bike immediately. He kept me apprised the entire time, giving me any news they had. Fortunately for me, there was no damage my wheel, they had parts in stock, and were able to complete this job in under two hours and had me back on the way. The Harley dealership network is undoubtedly one of the best selling features that the Motor Company has. The kicker to all this is I had been in a previous dealership earlier in the trip that should have diagnosed this issue and made my trip to Bergdale unnecessary. I'm only grateful that when the failure did happen that I was close to a dealer that had incredibly competent staff and knew how to correct my issue. The friendly service I got from Bergdale's staff and being able to so easily chat with them open and honestly about the service I received took a very stressful situation and made it one that put me at ease. I'm 7 hours from Bergdale, but based on my experience when I look for a new bike, they would be my first call and my experience will be one I'll look back fondly on and be grateful for always. Thank you beyond words to the experienced and quality team at this dealership and kudos to Harley for their commitment to keeping a strong dealership network with high standards in place across...
Read moreI pulled in from Sturgis late at night with the lights flickering and a dead battery, the next morning the service department diagnosed the problem as a grounded stator with the part being obsolete per HD, they charged up my bike, only charging me $75.00! I made it home the next day. I agree with all the reviews, excellent service, knowledgeable mechanics, and friendly people but I want to talk about the Gazebo, my friends and I have used it for many years (decades)as a landmark, a place to meet. It is well known among the night riders, the solo long distance riders, running I90 to Sturgis and back without stopping. A place to seek shelter from the rain, catch a quick nap, get parts, service, food from several restaurants , hotels, gas stations and grocery stores in walking distance. Knowledge learned is useless unless it is shared, and this post is for the young bikers, still keeping to the old ways, this is a good place to stop on...
Read moreIf you're looking for Harley Davidson apparel and accessories, there is a wide selection. The service department, not so much. We stopped in on our way back home to Michigan to have our bike looked at, (as it's still under warranty), the mechanic did everything in his power to not help us. He said they do not honor warranty cards from Harley Davidson (which I'll be calling about to their headquarters), and even said he wouldn't know the first thing to do with the warranty card, (even though there's a 800 number on the back of it), went on to say he hasn't any time to look at it, (but when we walked in he wasn't even working on a bike), and was a complete ass when all we were doing was asking for help. I recommend you take your bikes to LaCrosse, because that's what he's going to tell you to do, since his time is oh so precious. ...
