If you are cooking a lot of Korean food, like cooking your way through Maangchi's cookbook, this is where you want to go. They have just about anything you might need. There's a great selection of frozen seafood, and they generally have fresh produce on hand (napa, mu, perilla leaves, enoki mushrooms, soybean and mung bean sprouts). Generally some banchan in the fridge, which I haven't tried yet. The store is pretty well-organized, clean and well-lit. The folks are friendly and greet you when you enter. I haven't tried the restaurant in the back yet.
One should expect to pay slightly higher prices for imported food (prices are on par with other international food stores in town). I read comments that the staff were unfriendly; I don't think that's the case at all, but rather that they are English learners. I was able to get Korean radish, green onion stems, enoki mushrooms, and rice cake! The only dissatisfaction was the lady was a tad rude. She asked if we needed any help after we were there for some time and we explained that we were so happy that we found her store in NM where there's not a giant Korean population especially coming from LA, CA. Read moreFor a local neighborhood market for Asian food, it's decently really good. It's somewhere in between really good with some items, and just ok or needing to stock up on another item. But since they are so small and up & coming, I get it. I appreciate them being up here in the NE heights and not having to travel down Central into the war zone to the bigger asian market.
