Extremely rude and disrespectful, higher prices, and expired items. They will treat you like they are your customers. As a cybersecurity engineer, I know that most of these positive reviews are fake—some done by themselves and some by their relatives. Avoid this store; instead, go to Fair Price Supermarket or Halalco.
Today, I went there for shopping. I also wanted to buy a pressure cooker, but their most items do not have price tags so I asked about its price it was way higher than on eBay. The owner said, “It is on sale, and you cannot find it anywhere else for a lower price.” I told him it is available on eBay, which is $40 cheaper than your price. He rudely responded, "Bring it to me; I will buy it." I was in rush, I said, "Okay, just scan my items so I can go." I didn’t want to prolong the conversation with such a person. Then, I ordered from eBay.
I think the reason he acted like that is that they believe we are new to this country and don’t know anything, even if we have higher education, better jobs, or higher incomes than them. Their prices are extremely high compared to Fair Price Supermarket and Halalco. Halalco is the best store in the DMV area; they have fresh meat and groceries at very low prices compared to any grocery store in the DMV area.
Read moreMe living now two hours away, I have seen the store change so much. I have nee going there for five years and due to the distance, when I do go I buy more often in bulk. It is my favorite store in the DMV. I love their bread, it is a treat to get it once in a while. The store has grown in merchandise, it looks cleaner than ever, and the only issue is the isles are very narrow. I hope that he can expand the space in the future to be able to have people fit. The owner is extremely nice sbe helpful and there is a huge selection of products. The one thing I would never buy from there is meat though. I saw a few years ago a slaughtered animal removed from the truck- it was like a moving truck- no refrigeration, and the man just dragged it from the ground- it felt terrible to see this and it wasn’t clean. I hope the owner becomes more strict in handling meat carcasses that supposed to be treated halal. Otherwise I am a huge fan of the store since 2019 and always buy my spices from there and store them at home in glass containers that are vacuum sealed by me. I hope to visit more often- the drive is just grueling sometimes, because often it takes me twice as much to drive back and I go there just to buy my essentials for the next six months or so at the least … there are no Asian- Muddle Eastern stores where I.live so this store is a treat for...
Read moreI am ONLY giving it 1 star because they have relatively good stuff, despite some people mentioning their products are sometimes expired.
Reason I am giving it 1 star is because of the old man (with the long beard) at the cash register. I went there with my nephew and niece. This cashier was so rude, and did not acknowledge me (the adult, paying for the groceries), but proceeded to talk to my 9 year old nephew. When I interrupted him by mentioning what we have, he cut me off and told me that he’s talking to my nephew, and to let him speak. I felt embarrassed and I know 100% the other cashier beside noticed how I felt. This is not Afghanistan. But wait, it gets worse. The old cashier then proceeds to sweet talk my 9 year nephew and give him a few lollipops. My nephew explicitly said he doesn’t want them but he went ahead and put them in the bag. You do not do that here in America, I don’t care about the culture or your age. We should not be promoting these kinds of behaviour. Or turning a blind eye. Please get better cashiers. I am appalled.
I am never coming back here. I will mention this to family...
