First time customer here.. and probably my last time. Food was just mediocre. We ordered a combo platter which had next to no meat. My partner and I had to purchase “double meat” for there to have more than half a scoop. There was more sauce and rice than meat. We also purchased the Philly cheesesteak that had more veggies and raw onion than meat. The “steak” was non-existent. The cashier double charged me for the platter and then said no refunds… unless it was cash. Baffling service. When I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I found a fly in my food.. which was VERY unappetizing. When I asked for double protein, I didn’t mean for them to add the fly. Lastly, I ordered the pakora chips, but I was given French fries. However, once given the correct item, I will say this was the only thing that was good and worth it (after waiting 15 minutes).

If I could be Gordon Ramsey for a day, I would not recommend this place...

Tucked away in the Van Dorn Plaza next to the Van Dorn Diner, Shah’s Halal consistently delivers! The menu includes salads, gyros, platters, and sandwiches. I have ordered the chicken salad several times. It has a generous amount of tandoori spiced chicken on a bed of crisp lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, chickpeas, hummus, and peppers, then topped with any combination of sauces you like. The salad is always made quickly, with fresh ingredients, and is quite filling. I have also ordered chicken nuggets and fries, both of which were freshly made and came out piping hot (the fries are thick cut).
