This is a special place for our family and church group. The staff are helpful in the best ways, even explaining their wonderful food to novices in Afghan cuisine! We are always made welcome and treated to awesome food. The Gyros are a favorite. Never had a Gyro so full of meat. Even the bread is different and delightful. More recently, I have ordered the healthy buffet. It is rich and even our vegetarian guest enjoyed most items. Never have chick peas tasted better! Meats are simmered, spicy, and fresh. Served with either or both rices, a long grain with brown rice or a perfect Basmati rice, hot homemade bread, and salad and dessert extras, it just can’t be beat! It is exceptional. It is “all you can eat,” so it satisfied thoroughly! I made 2 trips on the past Sunday in order to try everything. The spices are so unusual and good, differing spices in each item. The restaurant is pleasantly furnished, always immaculately clean and orderly, and the atmosphere is enhanced by Afghan music and an array of lovely embroidered rugs with national themed pictures on them. A tour of the large hangings is like a visit to a museum. Of course they are available to purchase, but fine art is not inexpensive, so we just enjoy them. Kabul Kabob offers my son’s favorite, lamb kabobs and a generous lamb chop dinner. The menu is pictured above the kitchen, and what is received always seems even better than the pictures! The food is prepared just behind the counter in full view, so the quality of preparation and cleanliness is open to everyone. This fine eatery is located in an international center with food from many world centers, so there is a very interesting world tour of foods to tour, but for food we always come to our favorite. We do enjoy visiting the international food market and taking home things we’ve never had to try. Highly recommended, just an amazing treat for the family, prices are good, and very adequate seating for eating in. Many customers are from Afghanistan, which suggests authenticity of cuisine!...
Read moreOn March 2, 2025, I visited the kebab express restaurant as I have done so many times before. I ordered enough food for myself for lunch and dinner. I went home and completed my housework. I enjoyed a side dish of meatballs and veggies, which was very tasty. Their food is always very tasty. Later on in the evening, I went to have my main course which was a number one kebab rice salad and bread ground beef kebabs were way overcooked. They were dark and they were dry. I have a replacement meal as the food I received earlier in the day was not edible , I was told by the gentleman who greeted me at the cashier that he would reimburse my purchase. I explained I didn’t want reimbursement I wanted dinner. Some words were exchange eventually I was called the N-word. More words were exchange in the clerk behind the counter, jumped over the counter as to attack me. Other members of staff escorted me out of the restaurant. I did get my food, but at a price, I was told by the initial staff member that I was banned from their restaurant, as I said, why would I come to a restaurant that staff calls me the N-word? I’ve been to this restaurant countless times and I’ve always been very satisfied with the food the service and the pleasantries from the staff yesterday...
Read moreI'm stunned. I've never left a review before, but Kabul Kabob may as well have spit in our faces. Having ordered a lamb and beef rice plate ($42.70) we proceeded to wait 22 min for food that we expected take 15 min maximum - few others were inside and there were 4 men in the kitchen. This would have been fine as the decorations were well and the cashier was hospitable enough. But the food given was subpar. The chickpeas had no kick or flavor, just slop compared to any kabob place i've been to in the nearby area. The meatball was horrid and in a container with flavorless potatoes. The rice had no spice, only oil if anything. But the worst part: after having nearly left the parking lot before discovering we had no sauce, I went back to get some but came to find out that the white sauce was just mayo. I've never been so disgusted! The green sauce was lazy, only tasted of lemon, but bearable. Only the beef itself was salvageable. I really hope this place isn't this bad on the daily, but my experience with Kabul Kabob was horrified. There are plenty of nearby spots, no need to come here and waste your money and time...
