Alexandria Commons — Local services in Alexandria

My biggest gripe with this shopping complex is the entrance and exit situation. There are only two entry and exit ways, and the stop lights to let you out of the shopping center never let enough cars go through at a time. So there is always a backup trying to get out of Alexandria Commons. There's a Giant grocery store, a Starbucks, Panera, and a couple other restaurants, there's also a fairly new Guitar Center. But that's really all that's there, so unless you have a reason to go to this specific Shopping Center there's really no reason to go to it because the parking situation is enough to deter most people. One huge warning though don't go Near the Panera Bread Monday through Friday at lunch time because there's almost always a line out the door and there aren't...

Ok, disclaimer I owned a small (10,000 sqft) Grocery Store. What I like: clean, well staffed, good selection of many groceries and food items. Hot food selection is good as well-- but, I really need to talk to them about their "potato salad"-- needed more seasoning for my taste lol. Personally, I also look at little things, like how friendly are the associates on the floor (they're great here, very helpful!) How clean and in good repair are the shopping carts--don't you just despise those carts that have the funky wheel!!, cleanliness throughout, and end cap selection of "I need to grab this item" haha. Good to patronize if you need to quickly stop and shop, pickup carryout or eat-in, Starbucks run, or pickup dry cleaning. The shopping center layout is a bit wonky with its anchor Giant food, Noodles and Co., a nail salon, and urgent care and other specialized shops. The other side (which is separated by a higher set parking lot separated by grassy knoll and a double lane thru-way or you can go outside the shopping center at the light and enter through the other side) which has a Panera Bread, Baja Fresh, a recently new Halal Kitchen, Jenny Craig, hair salon, and a building with diverse businesses within.
