It's they only movie theater close to Altoona and it's surrounding areas. It has great seating that do lean back which is nice. I love there soda machine and how it's a freestyle machine and you can make combinations of flavor. I do love there kids combo lol. 5$ for a small "kids drink", fruit snacks(or upcharge 1$ for whatever candy you want) and a small popcorn. I definitely over indulge myself with popcorn at the movies, but I think the kids popcorn is the greatest size to have enough popcorn for the movie and not hate your self. I love the movie theater butter so good and hot. I like how they have 2 bathrooms for both men and women. They get all the new movies. I can't think of one that they haven't got. They do have deals like two for Tuesday and matinee prices before 5 or 6 (I can't remember). I am an A-lister and I think it's worth it. You get so many rewards and free movies if you go to the movies a lot. I think this year the produced a lot of banger and was going to the movie theater almost every week in the summer time. And with the purchase of movies you get 5$ rewards that you can use towards your...

I have an AMC A+ subscription that I have used at several AMC's across the state. I definitely recommed the subscription service. The food can be a bit expensive but this location is slightly cheaper than the other locations i have visited. The altoona movie theater is kind of small but nice. They have a popcorn bucket that is refillable at discounted prices after inital purchase. I have not seen this available at the other AMC's I have been too but like the idea. I visited this theater twice last week. They had posters available at the counter both times. It seems tickets are purchased at the food registers instead of a seperate box office but I had them on my phone anyway. Nobody was checking tickets the whole time I was there. I loved the glass window that shows the server room. Popcorn was kind of stale when I went to a daytime movie and when going later at night it seemed to be a wait on hot foods. The Big D theater had comfy seats and very nice surround sound. I took a star off for the quality of the food (especially for the price) but I would recommend this AMC theater and the A+...

My fiance and I attend this theater regularly. We have always loved the experience there, but was very disappointed with the incident that happened yesterday. His wallet accidentally fell out of his pocket during the movie. We realized this on our way home, then turned around and came straight back. After extensively searching the area in which we sat in, I found the wallet all the way down on the opposite end of our row where we were seated underneath one of the seats. We were the last people to leave the theater, and it had already been swept. We assumed that it had been overlooked and swept across the floor on accident, until we realized that the $400 in cash was stolen. The only explanation to who stole the money is obviously the girl that cleaned the theater. The manager let us ask her and she had very Shifty eyes and look down when we asked her if she had seen the wallet. There is obviously nothing else we can do except warn future customers about this matter. We just wish there were more honest people in this world! Pretty sure her...

Came to see Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness but arrived to only the madness. The line was about 25+ people out the door, easily 100+ when we walked inside. Luckily we already had our tickets purchased prior to arriving because there was only 2 people working the counter. We did not purchase any concessions due to the probable hour wait. There was no separate stand where you could scan your tickets. The movie was in their largest theater and this was another universe of equal madness. There were multiple groups of people that were missing their party and saving multiple open seats, no one from the theater to enforce rules. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had in a theater. It's a sad excuse of an established AMC in 2022. The bare minimum should be allowing reserved seating online and being properly staffed. With no one checking tickets it's an easy formula for anyone entering these theaters and a potential safety catastrophe. I'd give this theater negative stars if possible.

It’s a really nice theater. Offers 3D and BigD experience as well. Staff is friendly. The place is new so everything looks really nice. Seats are comfortable. It’s usually busy on weekends. Weekdays is not much people, so don’t be surprised if you and your friend are the only one in the theater watching the movie. Sometimes there are not many people, so it’s like watching at your own private theater. The refreshments are a bit expensive as usual for a theater. They also offer alcohol options for adults. A lot of parking. Everything is nice, just the refreshments are bit expensive. But best theater in Altoona and surrounding areas.

Just had a terrible experience at AMC Altoona 12. My 3 kids (under 17) tried to see The Conjuring: Last Rites with their 18-year-old brother at the 3:15 pm showing. They were denied entry. I went in person, gave my consent as their mother, and AMC still refused them. The kicker? The poster in the lobby does NOT say a parent/guardian must stay for the entire movie. It only says kids under 17 need an adult 21+. AMC’s website says otherwise, but the theatre signage misleads families and causes unnecessary frustration. AMC needs to fix this and update their in-theatre signage so customers aren’t misled.
