Great prices on items that were overstocked from other stores. For example, I picked up Trader Joe's pretzels there. They also have regular brand items too, like Nature Valley and Digiorno. The layout is a little cramped but there is plenty to look at and the customer service is amazing. My only comment is that I am a bit of a germ person and noticed several people shopping (customers, not employees) wiping their noses and coughing into their hand then touching their carts or shelves or even an item or too - so that was kind of off-putting in a tiny space, but I just went out to my car and used some hand sanitizer...like I said, I am a germ person. I will return though because for $60 I was able to get a fairly full cart with meals and snacks that my family will eat. This has drastically cut my food bill in my budget, so well worth the trip and am looking forward to coming back again to see...
Read moreI visited Daily Deals based on a friend's recommendation - wondering if I could cut my weekly grocery bill. It wasn't what I expected. The selection is dominated by frozen and perishable food; there's even a full service deli in the back of the store. I found it difficult to walk through the narrow isles, especially near the entrance where the non-perishable food is displayed. The prices didn't seem to warrant the "discount" label. Macaroni & Cheese for $0.50? You can buy a similar brand in Wal-Mart for $0.38. $1 for canned vegetables - no thanks! Although the perishable food is discount priced, it seemed comparable to what you could buy in a regular grocery store with a coupon or at the time of a sale. PS: can you eat an entire package of bologna in less than 1 week...
Read moreYears ago, Daily Deals used to have good deals on food. The moment they started expanding (years ago) and adding more stores, their prices went way up. I knew that was going to happen as soon as it was mentioned that they were adding more stores. 90% of the time, I walk in and walk out with nothing because the deals here are no longer. Their stuff is only about 10% cheaper than stuff you can buy at Walmart or Aldi. I would rather pay a little more for food that's not expired. Some food here is more expensive than what you can get at Aldi. Aldi is just down the road. It's cheaper and the food is not expired. Don't claim to be a discount food store when your prices aren't that discounted. Not worth the extra stop into this...
