My daughter had been interested about this place for a while because the pictures of unique anxious desserts posted on the windows. We finally went in for the first time and we're very happy to see a very bright and welcoming place. The treats were definitely Mexican with American treats as well, and to be honest I was very happy to see that. My daughter decided to get the Cookie monster milkshake while I got the monster preparado. The milkshake was very good and my monster preparado was so unique! I've never seen anyone treat an energy drink as well as our post did when he was preparing. Unfortunately I haven't yet gotten my taste buds used to the taste of tamarind and spices so I enjoyed it but not as much as I know I could have. The presentation was amazing though.
If I had to give advice, I would recommend to make the sign more easy to read. I really wasn't sure how to pronounce the place until I looked it up on Google. Also the menu on the inside on the TVs slides very quickly between one slide to the next and I couldn't finish looking at all the options before the screen changed. I wasn't really sure what was included in half of the menu options, though the pictures made everything look really good. I even guessed on the monster preparado, only decided to get it when my daughter recognized the monster energy drink and recommended it to me.
Regardless I'm sure we're coming back again! It's great to have this treasure of a dessert place here in Comstock...
Read moreThe language barrier is so unfortunate. If we had a clearer understanding of menu items we would have not ordered some of the weirder items such as: a small bag of hot cheetos with hot cheese sauce on it, no meat, not toppings and it was so soggy by the time it was cool enough to finally eat. Idk it was horrible for us. Which we normally love hot cheetos dipped in queso. This wasnt that.
Then we ordered the elote and idk why but this place made it so incredibly spicy, none of us could enjoy it! All 3 of my kids love spocy "hot" things AND love Elote from the 28th St La Loteria. They always make it perfect and their chili powder is tolerable. This Tsitsiki was just so horribly spicy. You ba e to have a tongue built for extreme heat to tolerate this places Elote. Im so upset that they were so ungodly expensive and that none of us could even eat it. I tried this place because they were closer to home but after the way everything was made and tasted... and how the man who answered the phone could hardly put 2 words together... it ruined them for us. Will drive the extra 5 miles there and back to go to La Loteria on 28th street. The elote there and ice cream snacks were...
Read moreMan, let me tell y’all… that Butter Pecan ice cream from the Latin spot hit different. My late mama loved this flavor, so when I pulled up and got me some, it was personal. Soon as I took that first bite, it was like memories came rushing back—smooth, creamy, and them pecans on point. I’m 43 years old, and hands down this the best butter pecan I ever had in my life, no cap.
I could’ve ate the whole menu if I had the space in my stomach. Everything about it just tasted rich, fresh, and made with love. This Latin restaurant know what they doin ain’t no basic ice cream vibes here, this the kind you don’t forget. I can’t wait to slide back and try something else, ‘cause if the butter pecan this fire, I know the rest gon’ go crazy...
