El Burrito Loco — Restaurant in Alpine Township

TLDR: This is my bf’s FAVORITE Mexican restaurant, so I’ll probably be updating the images and food reviews on this review every once in a while, since we visit semi frequently. We’ve never had a bad experience

Recommended drinks: Margarita -any Margarita here is great- if you have enough people, we recommend getting a pitcher. Horchata - with or without rum added- I love a Rumchata!!

We always start with chips and salsa and we also ask for a hot salsa- we usually mix them because I can’t handle the full heat 🥵 We also ordered the queso this time.

This visit he tried the burrito poblano- it was great- and the veggie plate E which includes a beans quesadilla, a cheese enchilada, beans and rice, which I also enjoyed. I’m not sure what the third meal was that was ordered- maybe you can deduce it by checking out the photo? 😂 Sorry for not being helpful! 😭

The ambience of this place is great. I always enjoy looking at the artwork painted on the tables, booths and walls, and they’re usually paint some banda or norteña music, which definitely adds to the vibe.

UPDATE: new photos with new menu and seven seas soup - which I may be ordering every time I come in now! It was so good! Kinda spicy but not in a bad way- and SOOO much seafood in it!

I don’t actually remember what he ordered this time, but he enjoyed it- see photos- maybe you can determine what it is? I thought fajitas, but there’s rice in it 🤔

We both got our regular margarita and “rumchata” drinks- which were good as always.

I ordered pickup of an order of five. I drive 4.5 miles to pick up some well thought out delicious Mexican meal for my family. When I say well thought out, I don't waste my money on no good food and who I support. I visit this location, but this tipped me over to review about this food when I am hungry. Once I got there, checkout and everything was great. Until I get home and I noticed the most important meal was my own. So I quick have a rang back stating I didn't receive my second order out of two shrimp tacos with bean and rice. Sure, I'm hungry, I'll go pick it up while my family is devouring their food. I get back to picking up my food, and of course, made it feel like I was waiting on fresh food. Gave me an apology and gave me a $5 gift card to come back. What upsets me is that I was asked to wait and my shrimps in my taco looked like in photos posted. It wasn't juicy nor fresh tasting. Over cooked and chewy. The crunchy taco was stale!!! I would've been happy if my shrimp wasn't $22 and made undercooked would've been better!!! Also, my son had the same shrimp taco as me ($22), when I finally had the chance to ask him how his meal was, he said his shrimp was rubbery and crunchy taco was stale. Went here for cinco de Mayo, which I expected to be slower than usual due to the day, However we waited for 3 hours for our waiter to the point we thought he left. At 6:40 we asked for beans and cheese three times and never got it; yet were charged on our bill when it finally came at 9:30 . when we told our waiter we didn’t get the beans & cheese dip, he shook his head angrily. We waited over an hour and a half for a drink refill , and 2 hours for our bills. It was not too busy for this to be acceptable.we didn’t even see our waiter in the restaraunt to ask, so we ended up asking another waitress who was extremely helpful and nice for our bill. the service was awful & the poor communication & overall experience was definitly not worth my 50$, let alone 10$. None of the servers except for the one nice young lady,seemed to care about us asking for a bill or refills, or the issue with 2 hour wait and an incorrect bill. The food was good but definitely not worth the 50$ for 2 drinks and 2 tacos, and exceptionally poor service.
