As my partner and I come up to the end of our lease and dealing with the notice to vacate paperwork, I want to relay how helpful, informative, and accommodating Elizabeth has been in the leasing office! As a member of the new management, her and Sonia have been doing an amazing job of upholding policies and working on cleaning up and upgrading the complex. The only reason we are leaving is to upgrade our space and add a bedroom.
Unfortunately, there are several unsavory tenants in this complex currently who clearly donât like being held accountable for messy public areas, pets off leash / not cleaning up after them, improper trash dumping, etc. which is where I am sure the majority of the recent low star ratings are coming from. As a good tenants who follows the lease agreement and pays rent on time, I canât say that Iâve had âmultiple emails threatening to evict us,â as another review stated. I have to conclude that youâd only be receiving emails like that if youâre a bad tenant who doesnât pay your rent on time and/or isnât willing to abide by the rules that you agreed to in your lease. Old management, although friendly, were slow to respond to maintenance requests (if at all), violated privacy agreements (which I can personally attest to), and generally maintained the complex to the bare minimum standard. Iâm excited for new tenants who will reap the benefits that the new management team will be bringing in!
As for the actual apartments, they are cute but a bit outdated. A teensy bit overpriced for what youâre getting, but I am confident that with the new management, the upgrades will come sooner rather than later. Overall, a very reasonable apartment for a reasonable price in an AMAZING location - right across the street from Altamonte Mall, plenty of dining and grocery options within walking distance, and just off the I4 exit for easy access to other areas around Central Florida. Perfect for a new renter or small family looking to build their rental history and get their feet wet with the commercial...
Read moreI've only been living here less than a year. Everything started out cool until they changed from Village Green Apartments to " The Essex"...now all of a sudden no one answers the office phone....literally ever...I called 4 days straight during a range of time during office hours and no one picked up. This is new. I have sent emails to their direct email and left messages via voicemail about concerns I was having with my apartment. No responded to date and this has been at least two weeks now. Prior to the transition emails were returned at least within 24-48 hours. Maintenance promises to return to fix certain things in your apartment and then you won't hear from them for days. & It seems there is only 1 maintenance person for the entire complex..was told prior the maintenance man was out for the day..is there only one perron??? They will also not follow up to tell you that things have changed or they would be coming back another day...just nothing... This is a major issue for me. Communication. The grounds have trash thrown around the property now especially in the back behind the patios Before mgt was pretty strict and always sent emails about upkeep expectations like blinds, any trash, and anything regarding how the property looks. Now those emails have stopped. The new owners are also taking part in the inflation of rent prices and are raising rent an addtl $400. I can't imagine paying $1600 for a 1 bedroom with no washer/dryer with mgt/owners with no communication skills or customer service. I've taken the time to look are other apartments near the Altamonte/Orlando at this time and there is definitely better pricing out here currently even with everything going on with the economy. With washer/dryers! Being that prices are increasing...the level of customer service should also increase. I do not want to pay rent to people I can't even get on the phone, respond to emails, handle maintenance issues thoroughly, or upkeep...
Read moreWe have had the pleasure of witnessing quite a turn around at The Essex! We recently reached our eight month mark living here. Relocating from New England was no easy task! We were very stressed when we arrived. There were a lot of issues with our unit and the property. This was not what we signed up for.
Since the new management team has arrived these issues have been addressed in a very timely matter. Neither of the pools were open at the time we moved in. Over the past six months this new team has opened them both. I love spending time down there. Itâs always well kept and peaceful. The gym is open and they have had several community activities for the residents. Cynthia is always warm, welcoming and fun to talk to. Walking into the office is stress free and it smells so nice! Lisa Marie immediately responds to any communication at any time of the day or week in a very professional manner. The maintenance team are friendly and always present. We had a little central air emergency on a Sunday and the supervisor himself was knocking on our door in less than 30 minutes! The property in general is much more appealing. I tell people that I feel like Iâm on vacation and have to go to work to stay on vacationđ They are successfully creating a resort living atmosphere.
We chose the Essex because of the location. Our oldest son lives ten minutes away and we both have quick commutes to work. We came down here not knowing what our next move would be, but we really wanted a place that would suite us for as long as we needed to make that decision.
Our intention after our first month was to start looking instead of renewing. The Essex was not what we had expected. Now, with this team in place and the improvements weâve witnessed, we plan on staying as long as they will have usđ
A giant thank you to the entire Essex team for playing a significant part in supporting our adjustment to the central...
