Never have I experienced this level of unprofessionalism. My mother and I have been shopping at lane Bryant for years and have always had a wonderful employee experience. Today however October 26th at 12:45 I took my 66 year old disabled mother for a birthday shopping spree with the intent of spending a hefty penny. We entered the Altamonte location to no greeting and no offer of assistance. Ok so theyâre busy no problem, I was looking for something specific but didnât want to interrupt the only employee on the floor as she had been chatting at the register with the same customer for ten minutes. my mom walks up to the counter to enter a giveaway and notices the customer next to her being urged by the employee to enter her name more than once. My mom politely asked if we were allowed to enter more than once so that she could do the same. The customer told her âyou donât know how to mind your business? Lady you need to stay in your lane Iâm a semi Iâll run you right overâ to which my mother said youâre right and walked away, the employee never answered her and just smirked. I happened to be still near the register when I heard this customer then go on to start talking trash about my mother to the employee who did nothing to stop her and instead agreed. A second employee then walks out this one wearing a bright pink t shirt and the customer proceeds to tell her this story as well all the while saying rude comments about my mother while I am standing right behind them. I understand if the customer has no manners but the employees not putting a stop to it and agreeing and laughing with her was truly upsetting. I wish I could say we will be back as we have probably spent thousands in this store over the years but needless to say we put down the couple hundred of merchandise we were planning on buying and walked out. So naturally I didnât think it was my credit card, but the sales associate had the nerve to ask me if I paid my balance. Extremely unacceptable. I tried to swipe my credit card 3x and the person next to me was having the same issue. I was rang up at $109.some change. I asked if my items could be placed on hold until Monday.
I go in on Monday, and get rang up at $125! OMG right! No, Katy the sales associateâs excuse for the prices being so different, âOh maybe it was a new employee who rang it up wrongâ! Seeing how upset I was she gave me $10 off which bought my total down to $114. (Still more than what I would have paid on Sunday without $10 off). Ok so I called the credit card company like are you sure there isnât any hold on my account because I definitely would have rather paid $109 without a coupon, then pay $114 with a coupon.
The credit card company ensured me there was no hold and could not believe the service I was receiving. They called the store and got a manager named Crystal on the phone, who was so pissed off she told me if I went back to the store she would give me a $5 credit back so that I would have paid $109. So I got to the store again, she doesnât speak a word to me, and rings me up for a $5 credit. Then proceeds to take back one of my $25 Real Woman cash coupons, being petty. Her way of I got you back.
Mind you through all this I was polite and quiet, I wasnât demanding money. All I did was ask questions and got nothing but attitudes. The credit card company gave me the corporate number for Lane Bryant and I put in a complaint with this store. They need a refresher on...

Julie, the new manager of the location has been the worst manager ive ever seen at any establishment. she harasses her employees all day long, yelling and screaming at them when they didnt do anything wrong. Julie always has a rude attitude and look on her face, she never greets people, she never offers to help, she jus stands there and yells. I remember when Lane Bryant was the best place with the other manager Erica and all the employees then. This is outrageous how she is getting away with this and not getting introuble with lane bryant. If you shop here, dont even look at Julie. My experience with her has been horrible, she was rude to me saying that i need to wait my turn because she was busy in a nasty tone. And i have noticed with all my years of coming to this store, the employees wear lane bryant clothing, Julie does not. There was a guest bathroom as well at this location that she has decided to make her storage closet, that is unsanitary and also unprofessional.
