Upon opening the door, we were immediately hit with a very, very strong, musty, mildew odor that was overpowering and permeated the entire unit. From the strong nature of the stench it is quite evident the place was infested with mold. And upon further inspection, I noticed mold on the walls, around outlets… Mold, especially to this degree, is highly toxic and is a threatening health hazard that can cause a multitude of harmful heath issues. This room should have NEVER been given to anyone and there Is no way that the individual who “checked” the room could not have noticed and known. This is not acceptable. Attaching one example of evidence of mold below and I have many more. ||||The odor was so overpowering that upon our arrival home, opening our suitcase the horrible odor had infiltrated ALL of our clothes and now as a result I must fumigate and wash every single thing to attempt to get the odor out! It is disgusting and worse, unhealthy.||||Equally egregious, on the Pointe’s website and Cottage Rental Agency’s booking page online, it specifically states that the “luxurious” units have “Restoration Hardware interiors”. This was a deciding factor for me in choosing to book at the Pointe. But the claim is deceptive and unequivocally false. The accommodations are certainly not “luxurious”. And there was not one single furnishing in the unit from Restoration Hardware. Not one. Having a home full of Restoration Hardware furnishings, I am very familiar and could immediately tell the furnishings in our unit, 142, were not in fact RH. And ANYONE who is familiar with RH could immediately realize this.||||Also of great concern was the security, or I should say lack of security, on the property. There was no staff at the front desk in the evening, night hours, but a dark front desk, reception area. The guest unit doors use coded entry and have no additional deadbolt lock from the interior for guests to ensure privacy and safety as ALL hotels and resorts normally do. I would think any accommodations company would understand this is a huge liability as anyone who had access to the unit code could access or enter- staff, maintenance workers,… at any time, stealing or harming anyone inside. Additionally, the master bedroom sliding glass door to the balcony did not lock. And further, though I have been told there is security on site at night, over the 3 days we were there, I never once saw them! So if there is in fact security at night, and I am not sure there actually is, they can not be doing a good job if their presence is not even visible to guests. The parking lot is extremely dark, with inadequate security lighting, and I felt very unsafe both walking from the car into the property and leaving my car parked there over night in fear that it would get stolen or broken into. All unacceptable. ||||As if all of that weren’t enough, the master bed linens were dirty upon arrival in addition to being of poor quality. The mattresses were uncomfortable and hard, pillows poor quality. The bath towels were paper thin and felt like sand paper. ||||The outdoor pool furnishings were mismatched, tired and dirty, disgusting. ||||And lastly, on our first morning exiting the unit, we had to directly walk across concrete immediately in front of our door being repaired with wet cement, epoxy, whatever it was, by a large group of workmen, working on a busy Labor Day weekend! ||||In short, NOTHING about this stay was good. It was in fact terrible. And worse. I feel as if we were scammed, our health and safety were put at risk and none of it is ok. I would NEVER recommend the Pointe. In fact, I would recommend to anyone to stay anywhere other than the Pointe. An absolutely terrible...
Read moreWe rented this place through Airbnb. We had high hopes that this place would be perfect after seeing the photos of the condo and condo space. We liked the resort feeling it gave through the photos. We stayed in 322, which was a two-bedroom two bath. Upon opening the front door, we were greeted with a strong chemical smell, just like some of the other reviews mentioned in their reviews. It also smelled of smoke and mold. The smell followed us home as it permeated all of our clothes, my pillow, and my laptop. I can smell it still as I type this review. The master closet had four hangers inside. Not enough for two people. I noticed that the walls had been scratched up or had some black marks on them. The light switch in the master bathroom toilet area had what appeared to be pink lipstick – but when I tried to wipe it off, it appeared it was permanent. The carpets in the bedrooms had stains on them; you could tell this condo needed some TLC and a magic eraser to the walls. The air filter appeared not to have been changed for a while. Dust was all over it inside the hallway closet. The vent to that was also very dusty. The master bed was very hard and comfortable. The tv in the bedroom would turn the channel by itself often while watching a movie. Our balcony furniture needed a good scrub down, and the balcony needed to be swept. Sand and dirt were all over, and I had to wear shoes when I wanted to go out on it.
Another reason we booked this place was that they had a Peloton in the gym. We are huge fans and have one at home. My husband went to ride it, and the screen would not show him his speed or cadence. The bike worked where he could pedal, but something was wrong with the screen or computer. The gym also needed some caring for. It is not a bad place just needs some TLC to make it a 4-star place.
What we did like was the pool area. It was very nice and quiet. Not too many people there during our stay, which was nice. We enjoyed Big Bad Breakfast a few times, and it was very convenient to have breakfast when you did not want to find breakfast. The bikes were fun to use, but as some said, they are old, rusty, seem to collect outside the entrance, and are not cleaned up when people leave.
The rooftop was open, but no bar to get drinks. It was BYOB!
It is a shame that a place with such promise is going downhill, and the small details are being overlooked. I am sure that when this place first opened, it was very nice and modern, but the upkeep of things has gone by the wayside. Everything white is now brown due to the Florida weather and just being outside. The whole place needs a good power wash and some deep cleaning.
With how much we paid, we can pay to stay in something closer to the beach. We won’t be back...

The Pointe is next door on the corner of 30A and State Road 98. It was a good choice because it is designed with the 4 story condos facing a courtyard pool and common area. This gave us a feeling of absolute privacy away from the madding crowds of Rosemary, Alyce Beach and the rest of 30A craziness. We rented the 2 bedroom condo with a balcony overlooking a pleasant green space and the pool area. The pool is really divine, with a hot tub and outdoor fireplace with ample seating closely. Everything is within walking distance. At one end of the property there are 4 outdoor barbecue grills and a hut to rent bicycles. (2 free rentals came with the reservation). Our 2 bedroom was large and easy to share with my parents. They had their own large bedroom and 2 sink bathroom/shower. They loved it! The staff was very welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to check us in earlier than expected. There is a restaurant on site next to the pool which serves breakfast and lunch (until 2:30) and has a happy hour. I would encourage the restaurant to add dinner as I think they would have a big draw. Theres a great gym next to the reception area and a fantastic rooftop deck on the 5th floor of one of the buildings. The 3 times we went up there, no one was there. It's a byob bar and boosts magnificent views of the rooftops of Rosemary and the ocean. Assume they cannot get a liquor license, or this place would be packed. The downside to the property is the horrible internet and no walkable beach access. Could not get internet for 3 days at all. Even tried to sit in the lobby to try to hook up. They need to get this fixed. Although they advertise a shuttle to the beach, they did not have one. We had to drive about a 1/4 mile and park at a public beach close by. We had a hassle with trying to get 2 more chairs (you get 2 free) because the beach rental company is owned by some other company, not Wyndam. They need to offer guests the option of purchasing more chairs without the hassle. I found the mattress to be too hard and the pillows the same. Easy fix. I would recommend because if you like 30A, it's an easy walk or bike ride to anywhere. Shades and The Donut Hole are an easy...
