Michaels — Local services in Amarillo

I've been coming here for YEARS because of their great art supply. I just got into framing all of my artwork, prints, and photos. And the nicest young man worked in the framing department, was so very helpful, and helped me with discounts and creating a true vision of what the finished frame was going to look like. He was amazing and so friendly, but we went up there recently and found out from an employee that he had to quit? The lady said that he wasn't given a manager position and left, but that's crazy! My wife and I assumed he was already the manager because he did everything! Even worse, the woman at the framing desk took forever and didn't seem to know what she was doing. Our frame order was late, it looked poor quality, and we weren't happy. Guess we'll take our business elsewhere because the framing department is a joke now. Michaels must not care for...

HORRIBLE customer service on a Saturday at noon. The store WAS not busy, yet I watched a bunch of ‘associates’ busy bitching to each other while they half assed moved things around in the isle.. AND then sending some gentleman who needed fabric cut , up to the front of the store where the older woman who was actually working ,answering questions, keeping an eye on the dumb self check outs, picking up messes and facing products, was expected to cut fabric. Not to mention, if you’re going to sell fabric, get a legit cutting table for employees to use, not some 100 dollar tiny craft table. It was ridiculous- my personal sewing space is set up better. Finally the store is a mess. Think pre Joanna’s announcing closing…… Michael’s will be next to close if they can’t get their customer service together and we’ll all be going to hobby lobby for...

I came in to pick up my online order, naturally since it was late I thought staff would be grumpy or short with me. Imagine my surprise when they not only were kind, warm and friendly with me but also excited to help and kudos to Marcus, he went above and beyond in an area he wasn't super familiar with but he found my order and had to crawl over some stuff (I'm sorry about your arm, buddy!), got my order and even let me know they were hiring at that Michael's. Thank you for the wonderful visit after a long day of work and fighting a cold, that definitely made my night 😊 It was less busy here at 8 pm than when I went in at 11 am a few weeks ago, but would definitely recommend to the crafts lover and seeker of the unique, definitely worth checking out and check online too, they have sales every so often, you won't...
