These apartments are cute, and we've loved having the pool. However, I basically haven't had a working dishwasher for the entire 10 months I've lived here. The most frustrating thing about it is, I didn't have a dishwasher in the last place I lived and I lived there for 5 years, so It was a must when I was looking for somewhere to move to, yet I've still been doing my dishes by hand living here. The first time I put in a request about it to maintenance, I had already been cleaning it myself. A few times with vinegar and a few times with actual dishwasher cleaner. They came and cleaned out the top spinner part. That didn't help, I put in another request and they finally came and gave me the cleaner they use, and turned up my hot water heater which I also requested. They said it should fix the issue, it did not at all. The third time I put in a request, they came right at the time I was taking my kid to school, so I asked them to come back in an hour, but I was extremely sick that day, so I put a note on my door asking them to come back Monday, it was a Friday. I heard them take the note off the door, but they never came back on Monday and marked my maintenance request as closed. I put in my fourth request, and they FINALLY got me a new dishwasher. They told me it would be here on like a Wednesday, it apparently didn't come until Friday and they installed it the following week. My door to the balcony also has a gap at the bottom and since it got cold, its been letting in freezing cold air. They tried to fix that when they installed the dishwasher, but said they would have to come back because they couldnt move the little piece up anymore then it already was, and of course, they never came back for that. So all winter I've had to keep a blanket at the bottom of the door to try and help with that because it was making my heater run more than it should have and made my bill go up. Now back to the NEW dishwasher, it looked new and it worked for about 2 washes, but then all of a sudden when it was done washing there was still dish detergent all over in the soap holder, all over the door and all over the dishes. I tried all 3 different Cyles several times. Used both liquid and a pod detergent and it always got done with soap still everywhere. I dont know if it was even going through the whole cycle. I put in ANOTHER request to maintenance, and 3 days later they closed my request as completed and never showed up. (If they did, they didn't ring the door bell like I asked, or they knocked extremely quiet) 🙄 They did tell me once that maintenance did show up and knocked but I never answered. But if they did then they knocked as quietly as possible because I'm literally Always home on my computer, 10 feet from the door either working or doing school work. So there's no way I wouldn't hear them knock. I also requested that they ring the door bell if that was their excuse so if they actually did show up, I'd definitely hear that, even though I would have heard their knock too. I work about 50-60 hours a week during tax season and I'm doing online school full time. I dont really have the time to do all my dishes by hand. Because of my intense and busy schedule, that goes until April 15th, I asked them about their month-to-month option since my lease is up at the end of March, and I'd really like to wait until the end of April to move when my work hours go back to about 40/45. They told me if I stayed just for April the rent would go up $310 And I'd have to pay a $300 month-to-month fee. So I'll be outta here as soon as my lease is up because that's just outrageous and I can already barely pay for rent, water, sewer, trash, all the little fees they tac on, on top of that (pest control, which I've never seen them spray or do anything for that, property taxes, maintenance fee, etc), and the $125 media package for cable and internet which I've never even used the cable, and the internet isn't the best which I obviously need good internet working from home and doing...
Read moreWe really liked our year living in a 2 bed 2 bath apartment at the Meadows from 2019-2020. It is definitely upscale living and almost brand new.
Pros: -We got to hand pick which brand new apartment to move into a year ago, so we got a great view of the mountains, a 1-car garage, and an end unit with more windows. -We jumped on the one free month promotion they were doing and it helped bring the cost of rent down by a little over $100 per month. -The pool, hot tub, and workout facility were awesome amenities while living here. -Maintenance was very quick the couple of times we needed them. They did come without notice (which we asked them not to do) but they apologized, so all is well. -We loved the layout of the apartment, it was more like a condo since it included a very nice washer and dryer at no additional cost. -They let you park an additional car in front of your garage door, so we never had to worry about finding a parking spot. -It feels like a very safe, well-lit community. -Having 2 ceiling fans was a life saver during the summer months. -The master bathtub is huge! The biggest I’ve seen in an apartment. -Very pet friendly, which is great for some people. -Small storage out on the balcony was very nice. -The AC worked very well in our unit. -Nice, big windows throughout. -Tons of cabinet space in the kitchen. -Location, location, location. So close to the freeway and FrontRunner station.
Cons -The walls aren’t super sound proof. We never heard our neighbors to the side or below us, however we could hear our upstairs neighbor all the time just walking around. -I know they get a special deal on internet and cable, which is so great if you don’t have streaming services. However, we don’t use cable and rely more on the internet, which was unreliable and slow at times. I work from home and have to do lots of video conferencing, and it just wasn’t up to par. We never contacted the office about it because our neighbors did, and even after multiple service calls they said there was nothing they could do to improve it. -I really think the residents should have gotten a small break on rent during the COVID crisis when the pool, hot tub, workout facility, and clubhouse were all closed for a few months. I’m positive that our rent pays for upkeep on those amenities and if we can’t use them, we should get a small amount of that back. Even $10 a month would’ve been a decent way to show their appreciation for our patience during the closures. -The power went out at least 3 times over the course of the year. Once for just a few minutes and the other two times for at least a few hours. I was unable to work during those times, which was a bummer. I’m not blaming the Meadows, because that could be just Rocky Mountain Power. -They do require you to either get your own renters insurance or pay $10 a month with your rent. No one mentioned that to us until we were signing the lease. -It was a bit of a pain to get approved to live here. I understand they want to make sure you can afford it, but we have a mortgage now and it felt like that was easier to qualify for! -I think the lawn maintenance company should have to park on the street in the winter. They have large snow plow attachments on the front of their trucks that make it so only one car can pass at a time. -The paint does seem to be on the cheaper side, I would suggest not using 3M products to hang anything. -They need to install a mirror at the southeast end of the property so you can see if another car is coming around the corner. You have to be very careful so you don’t get in an accident.
All in all, we loved our year at the Meadows. It is somewhat expensive, but they are listed as “luxury apartments” so I guess that is to be expected. If you can get any sort of a deal or discount, I would definitely...
Read moreI was so happy to move into this place two bedrooms two baths, top floor, came with a garage. I lived here three and a half years starting October of 2019. I was the second person to have ever lived there. Floor plans are spacious had a fireplace washer and dryer side by side, and everything that you could want. When I originally spoke to the manager at that time her name was Ashley. When I came back to finalize the deal there was another girl there named Jessica. She told me that she'd been in the business for about 1 month. She told me that they didn't accept checks for the deposit so she ran my card and I was charged a service fee of $25. When it came to the rent she told me that it was $100 more than what the agreement had said and I said "What about the October moving special" She said they already rented it, I said I knew that because it was rented to me. She proceeded to argue with me and I stated that we would talk about it when the manager was back. When Ashley was there she agreed that Jessica was incorrect and had to refund me $1,200 which was the difference in the year. Jessica rolled her eyes and went into the other room. I didn't think much of it, little did I know she had it out for me. She made my life a living hell when I lived there. I never was late on my rent, not one time. She told me to take my flag down on 911, she had my mother's vehicle towed twice, and she watched me constantly. Told me that I was not to store Vehicles which I wasn't as long as you moved them every two days you're fine. But no me, I was picked on by her literally till the day she left and went to be a manager in Draper Utah. I feel sorry for the residence where she's working. She sent me an eviction notice twice, one, for not having my second car in front of my garage. Another time was for a person that was evicted that stole from me and when I confronted him he told them that I harassed him and so she was going to evict me for that. When I went to renew my lease for the third year she said "You mean you want to stay here" Yes Jessica because I like the location and the building." I constantly walked on eggshells going to work and coming home from work. I had the tow company on speed dial. She was the most unreasonable, absurd, senseless, narcissistic,self-entitled, snot of a person I have ever met or had to work with. She fined the neighbors $100 a piece, for letting their dogs run together without their leashes on in the play area. She got a slice of the pie for every vehicle she towed, fines that were written, and animals that she had picked up and taken to the pound that were not tagged even though she knew whose animals they were. Just ridiculous. She works for the property management company of AMC LLC, so fair warning anybody at those properties being managed by AMC LLC and there's an assistant or a manager named Jessica with long brown hair don't rent from her. There's a lot more that goes with this but I don't have enough time and you don't either. She finally left in April of last year and I was given a stay of execution! With the new management, Kayla and Tori it was like a breath of fresh air. Those two women know what they're doing, they like their jobs and they like people. , the maintenance crew is beyond excellent, Michael and Steve are by far the finest and they keep the property that way. I have to say Bravo to Kayla and Tori and of course to Michael and Steve for an exceptional job. I'm sorry I didn't mean to write a journal but that's...
