First of all Ames Kohls, CLEAN YOUR INTIMATES DEPARTMENT. It's horrifying and none of the associates seem to know what a bra even is. It looks like the beginnings of a fire pit that everyone kind of forgot about. There's no organization and I'd probably have better luck at walmart finding anything.
I WILL GIVE CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE- Most of the associates at this location are amazing. They will bend over backwards for you any chance they get and they genuinely love just helping people and doing there job. Expired coupon? No worries. Need help finding a section and size? No worries. Item doesn't have an accurate price? No worries. Just need a smile or don't know where the bathroom is? Hakuna Matata my friends.
There's a few managers, Christy to specifically name one, who are the nastiest people I've ever had to deal with. I name Christy specifically because I have witnessed her bullying two different associates to the point of tears during my last couple trips to this location. She also harassed me and my friend the very last time we came in, hovering over us and 'suggesting' things to us over a period of five minutes, after we told her we didn't need help. She then looked over at an associate who had already smiled and greeted us; now in the process of folding shirts, and scolded her for not greeting us better. She should look in the mirror the next time she's desperate to find someone who needs improvement.
The managers also hold hours and pay increases hostage from associates, only to be exchanged by credit card applications. Which is really a detriment to the experience considering their credit card is AWFUL. And don't be fooled by the sweet gal just doing her job and asking you to sign up, because she's not the one who's going to help you when you're credit payments don't go through or you get an extra charge no one can justify. Instead you get 15 minutes of unhelpful electronic options on the phone until you reach a person (who is just as robotic) that will dismiss your problems as only that, your problem. Repeating the same answer over and over and then tell you to call back tomorrow to make it someone else's problem. The customer service center for the credit card is atrocious, and if you don't pay off that bill in the store the MINUTE you buy something, you can guarantee a late fee or an up-charge.
Too long didn't read? Go there with cash in hand and DO THE SURVEY at the end of your purchase, it's the only way the good employees will get their dues, and the bad ones get what's been...
Read moreI've been here many times to shop and typically the only downfall is that the store is amuck when they are discounting merchandise
I went to the store yesterday with items in mond that I needed to purchase for an upcoming event that I am participating in.
I went to the women's clothing section and started to look for what I needed and I was super happy that I found the leggings that would work for me. What made it even better is that they were hanging on a hook that had the sale price of $11.97 on them.
I thought ok I will grab 2 instead of just one. I found some other purchases and headed to the register. I was watching everything being scanned and the first few things came up ok, however, the items that were drastically discounted started coming up at regular price so I said something to the cashier and she went ahead and fixed them.
When it came to the item I was purchasing they also rang up at full price so I said those were on a hook back there for $11.97 and I said I can show you. I walked back there and an employee came with me, this was an employee the cashier had called over. I pointed out to her the hook, the price and the fact that all of the same item were hanging there except a few out of place items.
She proceeded to snarkily say that what I grabbed was not part of that price as it was a different material. I asked why it was all hanging on the same rack and she said it's where we put them shrugged her shoulders and started walking away.
I said they should be on a different hook if they are not the price on the hook. She said nothing. No apology, no I will check into...
Read moreI love Kohl's and have always suggested my friends shop there but I will no longer be using the local store. This morning I went it to exchange an item I gave someone for Christmas (I was sent the incorrect size when I ordered online and didn't think to check before I gifted it). I was treated poorly by the customer service associate - she was rude and argumentative. At first, I gave her grace considering the recent times we've all been through, but when it became clear I should return the item and not exchange (correct size unavailable), she questioned my decision and continued to argue with me asking why the receiver couldn't just stretch the item to fit, which is entirely inppropriate. This treatment continued and I became frustrated. I asked to work with someone else and she brushed me off saying she would return the item (the arguing continued). This was in full-view of the manager and several other employees. I was one of two customers in the store at the time (it had recently opened). No one else came over or spoke to me or her though I was visibly upset by the end of my transaction. I walked past the manager on my way out while she stared at me. This is not the first time I've had a poor experience at this local store, and I can no...
