Today I had made a quick stop at my nearest location which it's the Ahmerst Aldi's around 7:10 - 7:24pm. To my quick stop I had one of the most horrible experiences. I was purchasing some chocolate cake and a Vanilla ice cream. I proceed to self check out. My mistake because in the rush of walking in and out I was ready to pay when I realized there's no cash option. TOTAL HONEST MISTAKE because I did not read the sign. I had asked the Employee on shift Anna (Oh there's no cash option?") Her answer being in an extremely rude tone of voice "There's a sign right there and it said it in the Check out prior" I said Oh my God I am so sorry!. She then says "I can take you Over here" meaning the cash register (On a very annoyedtone). So I tried my best to cancel my transaction in the self check out. Took me a second and I didn't completed the cancelation so I transfered my stuff to the register. She wasn't in the register because According to her own words she said "I took too long". When she come back a gentleman trying to use the self check out I was at starts scanning his items to what he notice I hadn't cancelled the ones I scanned. He tells the Employee Anna "I'm going in a different check out since someone tried to scan items first" Anna then says "Yeah people do that all the time, they scanned stuff and then leave the register with items" same snarky tone of voice as before. Now I'm petrified and intimidated. She tries to ask me something about the transaction which I wasn't even to answer because I had blocked my surroundings at that point. I couldn't take no more the rudeness out of such a small mistake. Then She said "So we are doing this now? You don't feel like talking" with the most aggressive tone, worse than before. At this point she starts mumbling more stuff (one being "how ridiculous")and slamming the cash box after handing me my change. Pissed out her soul, looking like her entire existence bothers her she power walks away from the register. I started walking out with horrible anxiety and ready to cry because since when humans loose empathy?. I am the queen of insta carting my groceries home and this is a perfect example why. No body deserves to be treated like that over something so simple. Customer service has been lost and pretty ridiculous from employees that work in CUSTUMERSERVICE. Aldis had a great reputation but with employees that hate their job and customers. A store that could be on the top only...
Read moreI love this place! They have such a wide selection of foods. I can't forget to mention that the prices here are unbeatable. They have plenty of organic options from produce, boxed noodles/pre mixed biscuits & cakes, to frozen meals. My husband is a meat and potatoes guy and it is so hard to get him to eat vegetables (which I eat most of all) but he refuses to. So I found frozen veggie burger patties here that he loves! He asks for them regularly so I always have some on hand. They also have a vegetarian chicken patty option that is phenomenal considering it is meat free. Some of their items are only "seasonal" but we love them so much that sometimes I will buy a handful of them to just keep in the freezer. In particular we love their Shephard's pie rendition and their sweet potato casserole (which neither look like the picture on the box but they still taste amazing!). I also love the random everyday kitchen supply items, kids toys, clothes for kids and adults (they have the best plain black or white adult long sleeve shirts), and just random stuff. One year I bought a sweater shaver here! I also just enjoy shopping at Aldi. If I am ever out and about and I see one I make it a point to stop in just to see what yummy foods or cool useful items they...
Read moreBe careful when you think you’re getting a deal. It may be a failure of truthful or careful price sign placement. e.g.:
On the left was Stollens and the sign below it seemed correct.
In the middle was boxes of Choceur European Chocolates. Below it was a sign for Moser Roth Chocolates and it seemed like a good deal.
To the right was Choceur Chocolate Pralines and the price below it seem correct.
I picked up the box of European Chocolates because it was a great price according to the sign. There was NO other sign indicating the real price of $4.99. I got home and found out that I was charged a dollar more than what the sign was showing for the item in that spot.
Went back to the store at 2241 Kresge Drive and saw that it was the wrong sign in that location. It was never corrected even a day later. Everyone picking up that item was paying a dollar more then what they thought (if they relied on the sign).
I pointed it out to the manager of the store and I hope he took care of it. I was surprised that he didn’t even thank me or seem concerned of the mistake...
