Motel 6 Amherst, OH - Cleveland West - Lorain — Hotel in Amherst

If I could give a -5 rating I would. This was the absolute worst customer experience I've ever had. On March 26, I booked two rooms at this location through Expedia, and if you ever use the site you know it includes taxes and fees so you only pay what price the website gives you; even if you choose to pay at the hotel. So on May 29, two friends and I arrive at the motel and are told by the manager that he has pulled up our expedia booking on his iPad, he undercharges us and gives us one room key. We remind him that we booked two rooms and need two keys. He says that he would speak to his manager and that he would give us a call to come and grab the other key. When we did we were told we would have to pay the remaining balance. We also asked if we could get something delivered to the motel, for a job I was doing there, which I had already got a confirmation on and just wanted to double check. We were told that it was fine so we paid and went to our rooms. The next day I realized we had paid nearly $200 over what were were supposed to have paid. I brought it to the attention of the manager and he said he would call his manager to take care of it and that he would call us back when he got an answer. I never got a call and had to call him, then when we got there he wasnt available, and had someone else speak to us and say that he would talk to us the next day. The next day I was supposed to have a package delivered at the front office of the motel, dhl was told they were not able to leave the package from the manager. I was not informed of this until I called the motel nearly 8 hours later. When we came back to the motel I went to the front to speak to the manager since I never heard back from him. And again he was not there. I had to speak to him on the phone, after about 20 minutes of being dismissed and condescended to I was told that he would be on his was back to the motel. He gave us the number to customer relations and told us he would be waiting to talk to us after the call in the front office. We called and talked to someone who confirmed that we were over charged nearly $200 and that we had actually miscalculated and were owed more than we had thought. So once we were done talking to customer relations we were told that there was a report filed and that we needed to speak to the manager again. The manager once again left the motel . My boyfriend had finally had enough and called to speak to the manager at the front office where the manager proceeded to argue abd insult us by stating that he didn't live paycheck to paycheck so money isn't a problem he had to deal with. Which caused us to call back customer relations and have the same person we had previously talk to try to take the managers side. At that point we were done and just wanted to leave but since we had been charged so much over we couldn't afford another place, honestly we couldn't afford food, and the package that they said they couldn't take cost me a modeling job of $2000. We were livid. Upon leaving we were told that we would be receiving a refund within a week. It is nearly September and we have yet to receive anything. When I called back to talk to customer relations about a week or so later they said i had recieved $70 back (which i never recieved) and that it was good enough and that we should be happy we got that back. Screw this place. You'd be better off...

I arrived fairly late at night after driving for 14 hours and then working 4 hours.

I requested a queen non-smoking room. I was given a double smoking room with the butt-hut right outside my door (room 229) -- I am allergic to cigarette smoke, so I had to double up on my allergy medication.

When I got up to take a shower, the light in the bathroom wasn't working, so I tapped it. It flashed a couple of times, and came on. It went back out a few moments later. Tapping the side caused it to turn on/off.

There were hairs on three of the pillow cases. It looked like they hadn't been changed. One of the bedspreads had a stain on it. I didn't sleep in that bed.

The refrigerator was wobbly, the seal was bad, and my food was warm when I went to reheat it the next morning before going to work for a 10-hour shift. I didn't have time to stop at the front desk and complain, and then be moved to another room. My boss called me in early.

I got back to the hotel around midnight, after a 10-hour shift, and was greeted by the sound of the people in 225 fighting, the guy in 226 (I think) had his door wide open and was practically naked, and the entirety of the landing reeked of marijuana and cigarette smoke, with a hint of malt liquor and beer.

The parking lot and driveway were more pothole than asphalt, making me drive to my parking space like a drunkard, dodging one canyon after another.

The TV didn't work for a darn. The Internet speed was HORRENDOUS (Come on, guys, upgrade your speed... It's not THAT expensive.)

I stay at the Motel 6 in Milan/Avery Ohio a LOT and usually for the better part of a week. This hotel in Amherst was TERRIBLE in comparison.

I was simply too tired and too busy to complain about these problems to the front desk while I was there.

When I checked out, I asked the gentleman at the counter to speak with a manager, and he informed me that he was the assistant manager, so I aired my grievances with him. He was apathetic, and told me "there's nothing I can do."

I will NEVER spend my money at this Motel 6 again, and my willingness to spend money at any Motel 6 is seriously degraded by...

CAUTION CATION CAUTION Please beware this place is not booking friendly we booked online a month ago from N.V. and we had reservations here for my nephews graduation and we had handicap rooms saved and when we got there they were suppose to have a roll away bed to accommodate us and they didnt have that or handicap available rooms for a family of 4 and a child so we drove from N.V. to Ohio straight through not to missy nephews graduation of honors so we got here and wanted to rest and couldn't because we had to find another room to accommodate my family so my kid and family and nephews had to wait 3 hours in parking lot trying to find a new place to stay because of what they said they could do they could not also when my sister rebooked online for another night they didn't look at the online booking reservations so they came pounding on the door threating to call the police and telling me we had to many people in the room well I had left my sister there to stay because of the other room was alil to small for last min reservations and she was there by her self and so after they figured out that she had one more night thats when they moved her to a one bed handicap room for no reason the staff is not people friendly and very rude so please think about staying there twice just because its cheaper than other motels they...
