Don Tequila Amherst — Restaurant in Amherst

I've eaten here before and there's one glaring issue that stands out to me.

Once your server brings your food, they want nothing to do with you.

We ended up having to flag down someone (who was not our server) to give us the bill so we could finally leave. We probably could've left, ran some errands, watched a movie, and taken a nap, and returned without having been missed at all. Our server could give Houdini a run for his money for the disappearing act he pulled. We still didn't see him after we left either. Maybe he got sucked into the Lorain version of the Bermuda Triangle.

Oh, and my order was also completely wrong. I reiterated what I wanted at least three times and still got something completely different. Instead of a quesadilla I got an embarrassment. I was so saddened i couldn't eat it. Plus, I didn't want to wait another two hours for a box to take it home.

I could have returned it and waited for the correct item but that would've taken another three hours.

All in all the place has taken a drop in quality, and if I were to eat there again, I'd just...

Never again!!!, That's what I engraved on my togo box tonight! For the past two years they have been going down hill! Each and every time we give them another try it is worse than the last time, substantially!! We stop in at 7pm on a monday, no rush, yet it takes two freaking hours tonight to get our food, for a top of just three!! No napkins, no refill or water, no check in, nothing, Not even an apology!! Another waiter gave us chip refill as he noticed our glasses were empty and basket clean!! I hate it when they seat you away from the main line, no excuse, yet they forever act as if you are privileged to be waiting, or eating at the place. Didn't even apologize, just bought a beer for us, because it was apparent that we were dying of thurst waiting for our food!! For two hours! ! Never again! Don't let them seat you anywhere near the shrine of old taquilas, you won't get service at all. They don't care to run the area, it way too far from kitchen, what the duck happened to you guys?? Off to find a new Mexican food joint for...

Was seated promptly even though they were very busy. They were efficient at preparing tables and keeping people moving in and out. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hostess was very nice and attentive to our request for a handicap accessible table. Our server came to our table right away and took our order and kept checking on us throughout the meal. Our food arrived quickly. It was nice and good, fresh and hot. The chips and salsa were great. I got the burrito Durango and it was excellent. Filled with beef chicken and large sized shrimp. It’s in my opinion the best thing on the menu. The others in my party got the coconut shrimp and the seafood enchiladas. The portion size was great and they really enjoyed their meal. I just wish that the coconut shrimp had come with some type of pina colada sauce. That’s usually standard with coconut shrimp. All in all it was an excellent meal and I still say that this is the best Mexican restaurant...
