Bob Evans — Restaurant in Amherst

Fast friendly service. I'm a pretty predictable person so when I find something I like I stick with it. I am willing to try anything but when it comes to comfort foods I have my tried and true. It is a cold April day today and after I got some shopping done I decided to stop for a nice warm cup of coffee and hearty brunch. Let me be honest here, I could eat breakfast foods for every meal of the day, this is no exaggeration. When you walk in the place is warm and welcoming with murals of farm fields and the Bob Evan's barn and pasture on most of the walls. The hostess greets you at the front, this employee is also in charge of carry out so with the mindset and fear of public places the population has right now this person is rather busy. I was seated within minutes. Once approached by my waitress she took my drink and food order for me, considering I already had an idea of what I was getting. She served my coffee, creamer, and water promptly. Then before I knew it my breakfast was being served to my table, which was the country biscuit breakfast. I had not even finished my first cup of coffee yet. That's how fast this team is working on getting food out. Which is impressive! Everything started when we walked innto be seated to dine in. The sever Olivia stated that she wanted us in a certain section cause she was the only server and didn't want written up. We ordered food. Once the food got there the server came once when I was finished with my meal to bring me another drink. My friend ordered the pot roast dinner she had more onions then meat and there were old carrots mixed in with new carrots. After we were finished eating Olivia came over my friend stated she was upset with her meal and that she was not happy Olivia then stated would get the manager. The manager Chris came over he said he would take the meal off as we were talking to him he had to stop us and turn to tell his family to stop talking g cause he was talking to customers. We finished talking to him. Then the manager went and told Olivia what we said. Then Olivia can over asked us 1 check or 2 my friend said 1 she went to get the check. We walked up to the register to get the check then Olivia started a disagreement with us about our food and service. I then told her we have different opinions and to stop the disagreement. I stopped in around 2:15pm. I was dining alone for my birthday before I started work. After the hostess directed me to my table, I sat there for nearly 5 minutes, 2 different servers flew past my table waiting on the tables surrounding me, neither of them acknowledged me. I don't know if it was because I'm by myself and servers think that won't make any money, but the jokes on them, I use to be a server 6 years, I always tip well above the average. There was a lady who was in the lobby before me to be seated, she told me to go ahead because she was waiting on someone. Well, she was sat and being waited on. I told the hostess before I left, "if you didn't have the staff to wait on me, you should've told me before you sat me". There was a manager standing behind her, they both looked at me with a shocked look on their faces, she mumbled, "oh, well, sorry", nothing else. I gladly took my business to the Avon!
