So, after many visits over the past couple years, and having to deal with "the rude guy", today was the final straw for me. I went into the Amherst, MA location with one amazon return. As I was standing in line behind a gentleman who was finishing up his order on the CC machine, "rude guy" looked at me, looked down at my shirt, read what it said, and then gave me the worst glare of disgust that I've ever seen. In case anyone is wondering, my shirt simply says "Jesus Saves". That's it. As I got up to the counter, he continued to give me dirty looks, but not even directly at my face, just at my shirt. As he finished the transaction, he asked quite loudly if I wanted a receipt, and I politely said "yes please". He then ripped the receipt off the printer and very loudly said "here ya go", to which I responded "thank you, which then he followed up with "YUUP!" and an eye roll. I have called UPS headquarters and complained. If you are in the business of customer service, you have to, no matter what, be happy to see customers, even if you have to fake it. This man does neither. I will NEVER go to that location again.
EDIT
I also have pictures...
So I did in fact go back to that store because my hubs and I were out running errands in Hadley, and it was just more convenient. I left that store literally shaking because I was so furious. not just for the way I was treated, but because of how he treated the customer in line before me. I did email send an email to the generic reply's that I've seen on most reviews here, so lets see if I actually get a response. But to the story, a young man was making a return of one package with multiple packages in it ( I assume they were all one order being returned back to one place). This guy RIPS open the bag, contents go flying all over the counter in front of everyone in line. He the proceeds to start opening the individual bags and holing up the contents to "verify the contents". I could tell the young man was embarrassed and unsure of what to do. He then tells him he cant deal with it there, stuffs everything back into the now ripped open bag, and tells him to go to staples or ULTA. Then it was my turn... I had 4 amazon returns. He scans one tosses it into a box, scan another and tosses it into a box. I then realized I'd made a mistake with the labels so I kindly said "I'm so sorry, but can I please get the first package back because I mixed up the label codes". I could see he was pissed. He takes the bag out, opens it, looks inside, throws it to the corner. He started raising his voice after that and was (and this is putting it lightly) uncomfortably rude. I finish my return, get my receipt, and leave. My husband asked me happened so I told him the story and when I tell you he got upset, I mean he saw RED! I do not understand how the owner of the store cannot understand how awful this person is to his customers, and why he keeps him in that position. Long story long, and I've said it before, but I will never go back to this store.
Chicopee has wonderful staff. Very friendly, warm, welcoming, and will chit chat and have conversations if they have a spare minute. They will get %100 of...
Read moreThey refused to accept my package because I was using Scotch tape—the regular-sized kind, not the wide packaging tape—to attach the shipping label.
They claimed there was a policy requiring packaging tape so I’d have to buy some from their store if I wanted to ship the package quickly.
But that didn’t make any sense—the shipping label is just a piece of paper. Why would it matter what kind of tape is used?
So I called UPS customer service to ask if such a policy actually exists. The representative told me clearly: I can use any tape I want.
I relayed this to the guy at the UPS store. He said, “We’ll use the packaging tape for you this time, but next time, make sure you’re using the right tape.” That made it sound like he still believed in the policy he had just made up. So I handed him the phone and let him speak directly to customer service.
And here’s the hilarious part—he actually tried to educate the customer service rep on why packaging tape is necessary and wanted them to tell me not to use Scotch tape. But the rep stood their ground and said, once again, there is no such policy.
After that, I asked him to show me the official policy. He changed his story and said that it was the UPS driver who told him they wouldn’t accept packages without packaging tape—even just for the label.
At that point, I was completely fed up. I left the UPS store and went to Staples. The woman there confirmed that Scotch tape is perfectly fine, and after I ran out, they even let me use their packaging...
Read moreIf I could give it ZERO stars, I would! Horrible HORRIBLE customer service, not to mention it STINKS like dirty socks or body odor and the music is inappropriate for a business setting. Every time I go in there, the balding guy will do anything possible to avoid helping customers. Today I walked in and he was moving around a hole puncher and some other stuff in a box. Another employee came from the back and asked if she could help. I told her I had a heavy amazon return and needed help. She turned to her co-worker and asked if he could get the package. He said he was busy and would be finished in a minute. He took his time moving a hole puncher along the countertop to the exact location it should be. He reluctantly came with me out to the car and got the package. I closed up my trunk and locked the car and followed behind him and he stood there an waited for me to open the door for him. Once inside, I gave him the code to scan for the return and he purposely held the scanner gun away from me so I would have to move over to him. When I asked for his name, he said "Do you want me to cancel this return?" I said, "No, i just asked for your name." He waited and came up with the name "Gregory", which after reading some other comments quickly realized is not his name and he seems to like to come up with random names. Bottom line, this store is horrible and I will go out of my way from now on to use ANY other UPS store....
