Barker & Sons is by far the best plumbing company in the business. We arrived home late on a Saturday night to find our 20 year old water heater leaking, which likely indicated it needed to be replaced. To avoid further leaking, I shut off the water and gas line to the heater and connected a hose to empty the tank to avoid any further leaking.
We figured no plumbing business was open on Sunday but sure enough B&S was open and attended to us immediately. I gave them a call first thing in the morning and within a short time, they sent a technician to my home to provide a free inspection and gave me a few options to consider. Once it was determined it needed to be replaced (which the average life span of a water heater is 10-12, so I got extremely lucky to hit 20), they immediately got to work and all my problems started to disappear.
Todd my technician was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! He was very polite, knowledgeable, and explained everything in detail where it made you feel like you were talking to a friend. It was really refreshing to experience outstanding customer service from start to finish, the moment you call and get a real genuine staff member, to the final installation and running hot water. My entire experience was very smooth, professional, and stress-free. If every business operated with this level of care, with great management and technicians who are passionate about their job, highly skilled, and very confident in what they do, the world would be a better place.
If youâre looking for a plumbing service who will treat you like a person and not just a number, a company who is at the top of their game and will take care of you and make your water issue feel trivial, this is hands down the plumbing company to go with. A huge thank you to the entire Barker & Sons team, and especially to Todd, for going above and beyond. You turned what was once a nightmare into an stress-free solution, all in less than 24 hours, incredible! Your team truly did...

This time, they had to do a drain re-pipe on the backside of my house. It was an extensive project, and Sam, Luke, Bo, and Corey got the job done efficiently and beautifully. I really appreciated Sam metaphorically holding my hand throughout the process to ensure I had all my questions answered. He made me feel really comfortable about what was being done. Bo and Corey finished the job within the same day, and the left my home clean and free of debris. They too were a pleasure to work with. Also, every time I call the office, I am met with friendly service and personable employees. Thanks team!
Update 8/23/2024: I continue to be impressed by the employees at Barker and Sons! Javier helped me this time. He was knowledgeable, thorough, efficient, and friendly. He explained everything to me fully, and I appreciated his time and work today. Thank you, Javier!
Update 12/31/21: Another great experience with Barker and Sons! Christian helped me out this time and did a great job with my clogged drain. I am always so thankful for the Barker Team. They are friendly, communicative, and flexible. Thanks again!
I called Barker and Sons with a same day emergency clogged drain initially. They had their service tech Matt out to help me within 5 hours, which was really convenient. Matt was professional, kind, communicative, and knowledgeable. I had a few other issues for him to look at while he was there and he really helped me understand what I needed to do. He came back about a week later to install a new water heater for me. The area where the old one was located was a mess and he cleaned up everything and installed the new one beautifully. I was really impressed with all levels of service from Barker and Sons!...
Read moreMy past experience with Barker and Sons has been great. However, this is my first experience having them do some major work and I was very disappointed. Some of the work was very well done (wall patching and stucco) while other things were very sloppy and embarrassingly bad (concrete work). There was a general lack of care, such as reinstalling poorly so it became a dangerous tripping hazard or pouring new concrete in the rain. There was even signs of dishonesty, like placing a cut root under a paver to prop it up and make it appear to be level with the others (until I stepped on it later). Even after contacting a manager, they returned and only fixed some of the issues. For these reasons this company has lost my trust and I cannot recommend them to anyone.
Update 1/26 (see photos): plastic housing for laundry drain they added is not even close to being straight. Plus it is installed in a manner that the cover doesnât attach. Apparently workers just laid it on top and hoped I wouldnât notice (until it fell off).
Update 3/12 (will post photos soon): After posting this 1 star review I was contacted by one of the managers (David Carpenter) and workers came back out and broke up the concrete and poured it again correctly. They also âfixedâ the drain cover for the wall. All they did was screw in 2 self tapping screws. The housing is still crooked, but itâs hard to tell now at least unless you look at it closely. Iâve updated the review to 3 stars because they came back out and got things to a mostly acceptable level. However, considering the price I paid for the work being done, it should have been done right the first time. The shortcuts and mistakes they made led to extra hassle for my family and I. That is NOT 5...
