Chic Consignment — Local services in Andover

My mother and I had planned a day of consignment shopping and Chic was first on our list. I was pretty excited because I had seen a Louis Vuitton I wanted to purchase and the shop looked gorgeous online. Big mistake. Immediately upon walking in the the shop I felt uncomfortable. Each person working did not greet us, let alone look up from what they were doing when asked a question. I went up to the case where the purse I wanted was and instead of asking the women, I checked the price again on their site. We were in casual wear and were relaxing on our days off ,which made me think they had issues with our appearance. It was so off putting that we were ignored, that I was going to order it online, but why would I give business to people who don't appreciate it. Customer service fail all around. This was my first time consigning at this shop. The first couple times I came in I had a pleasant experience, everyone was super nice and helpful. I had called to see if I had a check available since my items had sold and they told me checks issue out in June but I could come “whenever I want” to pick it up. I went in the last week of May since I was going away and was in the area. David (I think is his name) was very friendly and grabbed another associate to issue a check for me. A woman came to the front desk and was taking care of it, when the owner came over and said they don’t usually issue out checks early. I said I only came because I was told I could come at any time and she asked “are you going away?”. Ummmm why does that matter? I was totally embarrassed and will never do business...

The store itself is beautiful and carries a lot of high-end, stylish items—definitely eye-catching and well-curated. Unfortunately, the customer service is awful. The staff completely ignored me when I walked in, barely acknowledged my presence, and seemed far more interested in fawning over customers who clearly looked like they had money to spend. I had a few questions about some items, but I was met with dismissive responses and disinterested looks. It’s incredibly disappointing to be judged and treated like you don’t belong just because you don’t fit a certain image. A nice store with bad service is still a bad experience.
