Final update, the regional manager finally responded after a few attempts to reach her since they claimed they wanted to make things right. She offered her sincerest apology, thatās it. The response from them to this review was not serious, they couldnāt care less.
I donāt even know where to begin. Moving into Meridian has been by far the worst rental experience of my life. I encountered so many problems since I signed the lease. I moved in on October 7th and moved out on October 28th. There was an issue with the lease after signing it. They called to make changes. At that point, based on the phone call I received, I didnāt even think I wanted to move in. If I was already starting on the wrong foot, what should I expect moving forward? I shouldāve went with my first instinct. Upon moving in, there was a very strong odor. The apartment appeared clean but the odor persisted. I decided to clean it and thought the odor would go away. It did not. In fact, as I sit here typing, the odor was just as strong at move out as it was when I first moved in. It smelled like bad body odor mixed with other stuff. I would get nauseous just sitting there too long. I was very concerned it will become imbedded in my furniture and clothes. I donāt understand why they would allow someone to move into a place that smells this badly. They had to use up to three coats of paint to mask the smell and it still persisted? I wouldāve really appreciated them telling me the apartment wasnāt available at move in because of this issue. Back to the cleaning, take a look at my pictures. Everything from the floors, counters, cabinets, stove was dirty. There is no way this place was cleaned prior to move in. The granite had grease and crumbs on it. Hair was wrapped all around the toilets, the toilet bowls were dirty. I couldnāt believe it was delivered to me in this condition. This was considered a luxury apartment. After cleaning the bathrooms and noticing all of the dirt and grime, I decided to document it. I wish the odor was the only problem, it is not. The noise from the tenant above me is unbearable. They have a child who runs all day (when not in school) drops items, jumps. I couldnāt get a moment of peace between the odor and the smell. The adults being heavy walkers, so much so that the light fixtures were shaking. I asked repeatedly prior to moving in if they receive noise complaints. I was told that they do not receive many noise complaints and if they do, that tenant is just being very loud. My experience was beyond typical apartment living noise. I guess it was just my misfortune to have encountered everything that could possibly go wrong in a unit. I learned that prior to moving in, maintenance noticed that the noise would be problematic, they were that loud. I was so miserable, I couldnāt even stay in the apartment long between the offensive odor and noise. Close to $3k waisted on moving in and out. I had to store my furniture and find another place all in less than a month. Horrible. In this economy, who could afford this? This has been the worst experience I have ever had moving into a place. I read the reviews, they were all glowing. Either the reviews are untrue or I am just had a really bad experience. Nancy did offer solutions to prevent a move, a deep cleaning AFTER Iāve already moved in and/ or moving into a new more expensive unit or the same unit on the second floor. That second floor unit has a fridge that had so many dents in it, it looked like a hammered coffee table, I was told it would not be replaced. Again luxury. Terrible. I would steer clear of this place. I had high hopes. I have rented some beautiful properties so I wasnāt super impressed but for what it is, I thought it was well laid out. The layout was better than most in the area and this is what sold me. I was so excited to begin the next chapter of my life. Instead, Iām left without a home due to the complete negligence of this community. If you decide to call this place home, make sure you see your unit first prior to move in and only go for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe lived at Meridian at Ten Ten for a short time, and unfortunately our experience was terrible. Upon moving in, our unit had significant pest issues already present. There were physical signs of a pest issue all over the apartment walls and ceilings. The management was quick to get pest control out to spray which we were grateful for but the problem remained. Despite the problem continuing and the only option being pest control continuing to spray, there was never an extensive and thorough inspection to find out where the issue was directly coming from, only guesses of where they could be coming from.
We finally decided it was time to ask to transfer units due to the stress it was causing. When we asked about transferring to a different unit due to the inability to comfortably live in the unit, we were told we would have to go through the standard transfer process as any other resident would. Given our specific circumstances (being given this unit with severe pest issues), this felt discouraging and it felt that we were not being listened to.
This situation caused a significant amount of emotional distress, and we ultimately had to break our lease early. Ending our lease early after only a month resulted in significant financial loss, and the experience continues to affect us today. While I know people will have varying experiences, I think it is extremely important for prospective residents to be aware of how issues like pest control and unit conditions are handled here. PLEASE DO AN IN-PERSON INSPECTION before signing your lease, as we were unable to due to living in a different state at the time.
For the people who do not like bugs: This place is extremely buggy. There are trees that are placed in front of the balconies and they attract spiders and bees and A LOT of them. The walkways and stairwells are extremely buggy at night. The complex is near a wood line so the bugs are expected but I wish I had realized prior to moving.
One positive: The maintenance staff is amazing, never once had an issue with them and they were always...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI toured Meridian Ten-Ten shortly after relocating to NC 1-1/2 ago. Unfortunately there was no availability but something kept drawing me back. When my previous lease was up, once again I visited. Same feeling⦠this had to be my next place. With a little patience and luck, the unit I wanted became available. Many other complexes show you an upgraded model and the unit you end up with has nothing in comparison. Not at Meridian Ten-Ten. What you see IS WHAT YOU GET. Super clean, upgraded designs (granite, tile floors/backsplash, SS appliances, window over the sink, endless storage, peaceful/calming color schemes, and much more!). And even better than the amenities - pool, grills, business space, fire pit, on-site social activities, etc. - the ENTIRE STAFF. Jay was my first contact with the complex 1-1/2 years ago. First impressionsā¦. Weāll let me just say Jay is not only the first impression that sells the complex as home but he is just as steady and consistent as Ashlyn and Alexis. They donāt just work here, they ARE what makes Meridian Ten-Ten what it is - THEY ARE AWESOME, PERSONABLE, FUNNY, RESPONSIVE, and just REALLY good people. Iāve only had the absolute most minor of maintenance issues and those guys have been just as awesome as the office staff. Thereās something different about this place, it keeps drawing you back in. Be patient/persistent; you wonāt have any regrets living here.
Oh, and if you have dogs, they are welcome too! Some of the most friendly pooches š¶ Iāve ever seen and that speaks highly of their owners. Theyāre well trained,...
