I really wanted to enjoy my time at this bar, but unfortunately, I had a very concerning and disappointing experience with the dessert I ordered â their so-called "strawberry short cake in a jar." At first glance, it looked cute and fun, like a trendy take on a classic treat. However, once I got to the bottom of the jar, I was shocked to find glass the glass was shattered at the bottom.
Let that sink in â there could be glass inside my food.
Needless to say, I was horrified. My immediate thought was: What if someone in my family had eaten this? What if a child or a friend had swallowed a shard of glass? Itâs not just unappetizing â itâs a serious health hazard.
When I brought this issue to one of the staff members, hoping for some kind of assurance that they would look into how this happened and make sure no one else had the same experience, their response was shockingly dismissive. They said theyâd âthrow out the jar and maybe the batch.â That was it. No apology. No concern. No offer to investigate how the glass got in there in the first place.
This is a major red flag when an establishment treats a potential safety violation with such indifference. I canât in good conscience recommend this place to anyone after what I experienced. Food should never pose a risk like this â especially not because of negligence.
If you're looking for somewhere to unwind with a drink and maybe a little dessert, I'd think twice before coming here. Your safety shouldn't be part of...
Read moreMy husband, some friends and I were going out for dinner at Scratch Kitchen - there was a wait, no surprise because it's amazing. We noticed a new space opened directly across the hall and decided to get a drink while we waited. When we walked in, immediately, I fell in love with the space. The decor is stunning. The staff, Katie was our bartender, was so friendly, kind, and fun! The owners were there and we got to watch them take some promotional photos of drinks which was really cool because some of the drinks were on fire...literally. After finishing dinner at Scratch Kitchen, we went back to Neat & Sweet for more drinks! The owner generously gave our table a chocolate fondue tray! đ± Soooo yummy.
We drove from Fuquay-Varina to Scratch Kitchen. We don't often venture that far for dinner dates, but Neat & Sweet is absolutely worth the hike. We will be returning soon!
Our table tried several drinks. Our favorites were the shareable High Society which comes in a tea pot and tea cups with edible flowers, the shareable Old Fashioned which comes in a decanter, a Lemon-Lavender-Ginger Cocktail, there was one that was set on fire and one that was smoked - all were Sooo good. My favorite was definitely the Lemon-Lavender-Ginger Cocktail.
I can't...
Read moreWe may have been on an off day, but they had one bartender for the peak time of dinner which caused a big delay in getting service. We sat for a 20 mins before anyone even took our drink order and then another 12 for the bartender to get us our order. Maybe someone didnât show up for work but if not, one bartender makes no sense for how popular it is.
The ambience was nice - that was about the only cool thing about this place. Itâs pretty small so seating is limited. We didnât order food given the major delay with the service, but the drinks itself were okay. A bit overpriced.
We may give it another...
