Alchemy Distillery — Local services in Arcata

My now husband and I had the absolute honor and privilege to host our rehearsal dinner / welcome party for our wedding at Alchemy a few weeks ago. Steve and Amy went above and beyond with every aspect for our event. Their communication, care, and commitment to making this an evening to remember was so appreciated. The process was so easy with the two of them and the night turned out spectacular! A beautiful venue, beautiful people, and amazing drinks.. That pineapple Boldt Whip tho! 😋

We were also blessed by the old Kyoto sushi squad, their food was to die for! They made the best vegetarian and non-veg sushi I’ve ever eaten and each piece was curated so beautifully. I haven’t stopped craving the delicious tuna poke and marinated bell pepper nigiri.

Alchemy Distillery is a gem.

Amy and Steve's hospitality is unmatched and the tasting room they built is beautiful. Their love for their business is present in every little detail, from glassware made of their recycled bottles to the hexagon-shaped bar that matches the shape of their logo.

The pop-up kitchen takeovers are always wonderful. Each guest chef has options that work for a wide variety of dietary preferences, including gluten-free and vegetarian, and Amy creates delicious cocktails (or mocktails) to match the theme. It's so fun to try cuisines that aren't really represented in our local restaurant scene, such as Puerto Rican or Hmong food.

Humboldt is lucky to have two people as kind and locally supportive as Amy and Steve are at Alchemy Distillery. They source locally and their spirits are exceptional. I have a bottle of their barrel strength bourbon, Cereal Killer, and now a bottle of their barrel Manhattan (which is fantastic).

Keep an eye out for their tasting room and food location, opening in 2023. This will be sure to be a great hang out spot. They have beautiful rolling windows/doors so on the nice days the gorgeous weather and sunlight can make it in.
