Union Town Shopping Center — Local services in Arcata

Convenient shopping center. Has most all my needs in 1 shopping center. I can get my groceries then hit the pet supply store for my dogs needs next off to pickup a cheaper pack of cigarettes after that I can hit the Red Box for movie night. My prescription is ready for me to pick up so into the drug store. I ordered a pizza so I am going to run in and grab it bit I forgot my cash card luckily the bank is 2 doors down. Got the cash and back to get the pizza and realize I forgot to pay my cell bill, fortunately the cellular phone store is the door between the bank and pizza place. Got my pizza but my wife can't stand pizza but loves Mexican food. Good thing that's the next door down. I'm tired I'm hungry and I'm ready to go. Bought some Wescos here because they were cheapest around. Soles fell apart within a year. Not sure if they get the boots so cheap because they are faulty. It could be my walking too. Either way, I took them in to get looked at, was told the repair man would give me a call in a day. Over a week, never got a call. Went back in and got my boots back and just sent them in to Wescos as they do a resole for cheaper than PSS including shipping and actually do what they say. They also sewed the new soles with kevlar and screwed them in for free. PSS didn't even call them on my behalf to try and get me a deal.

Don't bring boots to get repaired here. Thought since I bought them here they'd hook me up...Don't count on it. They won't stand by the products they sell. Would've gone to Grundmans but he is...

I have been buying my boots from this store since 1990. In the past i had always been very happy with the boots i purchased here until now. Recently i was sold a pair of Chinese Danners at the Plaza Boot Shop and within a year the soles were falling off, and several seams were failing. (They never mentioned that the boots were made in China, and knowing Danner to be a US company, i assumed they were made here.) I brought them into the store, and all they could say was, "That's unfortunate," and offered to re-sole them for $88.00.
