Really uncomfortable experiance. I ordered a roll after confirming it would be a "roll" like a cinnamon roll pizza style. I wanted no bell peppers/olives. Got the "roll" but it was a folded yet open-style liquid-filled mess it also had bell peppers. My husband took it back because it was very soggy and inedible. He exchanged it for 3 slices of pizza. I was grateful that they exchanged it without hassle however on the very first bite there was a rock/pebble a little smaller than an eraser. It chipped my front tooth and caused a lot of pain shooting up into my gums. It's still hurting. I called and let them know that we didn't want it remade but that they should take it off the sale shelf for safety reasons. The lady said "ok yea, Thanks for letting us know..." but she seemed really irritated and hung up as I was saying "yea no problem I just don't want anyone else getting hurt" the line went dead.... well I have pictures so I'll share those. Don't get the roll if you don't like sopping wet soggy bread filled with liquid. Don't get the godfather if you value front teeth!!!

I hate to do this because I really love this place, but this was honestly a little disturbing. I ordered a GF pizza. I happened to be inside when they were making it and the guy took out the box and put it on the counter where he makes the pizzas on the board and put my GF crust on top of the box and then put a plastic lid on top of my crust. I asked one of them if that pie was for me and if they wouldn’t mind being a little more sanitary. He said he’d let him know. I watched him tell his coworker to which his coworker threw away the crust and took out another one and again put it on top of the box. I just don’t get it. I’ve been in the industry and I would never in a million years do this especially if customers can see you. Found it incredibly disrespectful. I was really excited about dinner. I hope that the owner will see this and make sure the employees are aware of health code.

Really enjoyed our visit to the Arcata branch. We ordered far too much pizza - very large portions here - a 14 inch pizza each plus a large salad was more than double what we wanted - a (generous) individual slice and side salad would have been great, or a pizza and a large salad for three. Anyway, great bases and tasty toppings and friendly service make this a great place for dinner - just don't go mad when making your order.

My slice was incredibly greasy to the point where the whole thing fairly disintegrated (note to the establishment, you had a bona fide New Yorker in there, and trying to eat a slice in that condition is an assault to our pizza-connoisseur senses. Then again, New York pizza in California is about as elusive as a real bagel, so I guess I held too high a standard).

Additionally, I asked the counter staff if they had any silverware since I was going to need some backup (and maybe a bib). I was directed toward some plastic silverware (which I prefer not to use for, you know, environmental reasons, like protecting the stomachs of the whales that cruise thru every year), so I asked if there was an alternative.

If it had been left simply at "no" I would have just foregone the silverware and dealt with the fallout with my already-grease-covered hands, but the response was "we're all out right now, but maybe if our dishwasher gets around to it..." Seriously? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WASH A FORK?

I get that it's Humboldt, but seriously, that's a bit too laissez-faire for my tastes, even at a pizza joint... Left holding the crust-end as a good third of my slice slid onto the plate below, I ate that (extra star because the crust was decent) and dumped the remaining slop in the trash. Sorry, Paul. Won't be my first choice next time I'm...

Authentic Italian Flavors at Paul’s Live From New York Pizza in Arcata, CA

I went to Paul’s Live From New York Pizza in Arcata, Ca a few years ago. I was treated to an unexpected delight in the form of the best cannoli I’ve ever had. It wasn’t just the pizza that impressed; their cannoli took the experience to a whole new level of Italian culinary excellence.

From the first bite, the pizza showcased classic New York style with a perfect crust, robust sauce, and generously topped with quality ingredients. Each slice was a testament to authentic flavors and meticulous preparation. However, the highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the cannoli. It was impeccably crafted with a crispy shell and a lusciously creamy filling, striking a fine balance of sweetness and texture that made each bite memorable.

Paul’s Live From New York Pizza serves up the best cannoli that I have ever tasted! :) This spot is a must-visit for anyone in Arcata looking for a taste of genuine Italian fare. The delightful combination of great pizza and the best cannoli makes it a culinary gem...
