The only problem I have experienced was during the election as a democratic nominee's party was running for office. When I inquired about the candidates goals for Veterans rights I was essentially ignored and felt a strong presence of adversity. I am not a minority and I guess not a prime target of their votes. This truly made me feel disgrace for the American flag I fought and still protect. As I was walking away I did spite on the ground which was reported to surrounding officers of Arlington county Police department that I actually spite in the face of one of the women campgaining. The officers intervened and lucky a witness came forward telling the truth of what actually happened. This saved me from being placed in custody and I was told by the officers these were respectable people of the local community. As a service connected Veteran battling mental health issues related to my service I felt powerless and somewhat let down by the community. Even more so by a community that harbors some of the most hallow grounds us as the US Military sustain and a reminder of what freedom costs. I have never felt more ashamed of my military service and even though Iost the moral high ground acting inappropriately at the end the way in which I was handled by the self proclaimed community made me feel astonished and shocked at the reception of this area. I know that Arlington doesn't cherish nor tolerate this type of action towards our military and Veteran community and I will also recommend Starbucks as they have always been very polite and respectful not only as a customer but also a prior service member of the Armed forces. The statitics are against our war fighter community and I thank the good men and women in this area that do respect our sacrifice to this...
Read moreA beautiful, well maintained place. Love to walk my dog there because of the fountain, grass, flowers, friendly people around, and plenty of space for playing.
Recently, there was a "Paws on the Plaza" event on July 22, 2023, in the Courthaus Social wallet for the dogs and their owners. I like that they do it once or twice each year. There was a dog friendly yoga by Eat.Yoga.Drink in the morning, Barkcuterie boards, signature cocktails, specialty hot dog stand where you might buy some good food prepared right in front of you, District Dogs site, professional dog portraits by DeSilva Studios, which I remembered from 2022 event, and many many other sites with goods, hand-painted portraits, etc. Alison DeSilva is doing a great job. I love her work and attached one photo of my dog NaVi.
We were able to participate in the raffle for charity by Warrior Canine Connection and were trilled to win a Barney Bones gift basket! The winners are able to pick up the prize from Courthaus Social during normal business hours and take some photos.
Summarizing the event, we had a great time! Thank you to everyone who made it happen...
Read moreSome business units have been closed and empty for years (one at least) which is a drag. But otherwise a nice area with restaurants, Starbucks, GNC, barber shop, jeweler, fitness center, deli, movie theatre, bank, etc. A more recent addition is the public seating areas which are really nice - more so when it’s warm out, but nice nonetheless. It’s pedestrian friendly too because it’s only pedestrians. This can be nice since the area is otherwise pretty full of cars. During the week there are a lot of people typically during work hours and the most in the morning and at lunch time. Weekends - when it’s nice out there may be more people. It’s never too crowded. It’s rarely that empty too. My photos are rather unusual situations. Worth stopping by - especially on a nice day. If you want a place to shop though, I wouldn’t really call this a shopping center and the hours of some places...
