Ordered delivery from Sicilian Pizza a couple of times now, and have a somewhat mixed review. One hand the food is mostly good, love the sandwiches, and they haven't messed up an order yet. Also, a delivery charge of $1.25 is nice compared to some others and the subtotal has to be at least $10 which is great when you are not ordering food for a group. On the other hand, the sides are small (their chicken nuggets are the smallest I have ever seen and the chips are just a small bag of chips), I have yet to see napkins or extras that come with other delivery orders outside of the minimum that comes with their orders (a packet of ketchup for the fries for example), and the last time they delivered it took over an hour. To be honest, they are not that far away from me, and the order was not during rush-hour. I mean, 2 miles away. Now, it was a new driver (or at least one I had not seen before) so maybe he was learning the ropes. So if ordering food you may end up REALLY hungry by the time the food gets to you. Be warned. Edit : Update - ordered delivery from them today. Just a Capri Sandwich and a 2 liter bottle of diet coke. Of course the sandwich comes with a bag of chips. Took them 45 minutes - GREAT! And I ordered it around 7 PM, so they were likely busy to boot! The coke was cold. The bag of chips was the normal bag of chips. But this time I got NAPKINS! And the sandwich...looked like it needed to visit a doctor. It looked nothing like a healthy sandwich. I mean, just compare it to a picture you could find on the net if you search for a capri sandwich. I understand that Italian food in America ISN'T real Italian food but...shouldn't a 8 dollar sandwich have at LEAST 8 dollars worth of stuff in it? Also, to be honest, this looks like the same type of sandwich most of the Italian places I have ordered from over the years deliver to my doorstep. They REALLY do look all the same. I could likely find it cheaper from one of the other insert-Italian-name-here places and maybe even get a better sandwich. I fear I will not be ordering from Sicilian Pizza for a long time - their chain just isn't...
Read moreI live 3 minutes away (1.1 miles) from Sicilian Pizza. We ordered a large margarita pizza at 9:34pm and received a notification by GrubHub that the order would arrive between 10:30-10:40pm. At 9:57pm we opted to call the restaurant to see if we could pickup the order instead and ask about the status of the order. The woman who answered the phone told us that the order was with her driver, that he was making a delivery first but then would be on his way with our pizza arriving in 10 mins. I commented that “we live like 2 mins away so you’d think the driver would come this way first”. The women then responded by saying she would cancel the order and abruptly hung up. We were confused by how she could cancel the order if it was already with the driver and he was enroute. We also got another text from GrubHub that the order was on the way at 10:01pm. At 10:40pm the pizza has still not arrived so we called the restaurant back. The same woman answered the phone again — when I gave her the address and inquired about the status of the order she said “I canceled your order. You laughed at my driver and I don’t like that. You’re a liar you don’t live 2 mins away. you can order from Dominos I don’t need your money!” And again slammed the phone shut on me. I’m utterly shocked and perplexed by this most unprofessional of customer service experiences. It also dawned on me that it would be implausible for her to cancel the order if the pizza was truly enroute with the driver. So…speaking of liars….I advise this establishment to make serious improvements to the treatment of their customers. This woman is likely the owner or manager, otherwise I’d be even more shocked that she would be so boldly rude...
Read moreWow, absolutely amazing! My wife and I are Italians from the Philly area and have had a hard time finding good pizza in the DMV, after trying Sicilian Pizza our search is over.
Short review:100% will be back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuinely good pizza joint.
Long review: my wife and I ordered the margaritas pizza, spinach and artichoke calzone, fries and cheesy bread.
The pizza was simple and had a good crust thickness. Ingredients were top notch and tasted like genuine Sicilian style pizza.
The calzone was cooked to perfection with great proportions of dough, cheese, sauce and veggies. Veggies were delicious and the calzone was not to oily like some other places make it. Again the thickness of the crust was great.
The fries were a good quality and went well with the amazing marinara sauce provided on the side. The marinara sauce was not to sweet and was a bit more chunky then most places make it which was a nice surprise.
The cheese bread was good, this was the one thing I would probably not get again but thats not to say it wasn't tasty.
Generally the Ingredients tasted high quality and I felt good eating it, I didn't feel overly stuffed or gross after finishing like I sometimes do with other more heavy dishes from other...
