Sky Lanes Bowling — Local services in Asheville

Please, it’s worth the rest. I wanna say I never write bad reviews unless I’ve truly had a bad experience out of my control.

My husband and I visited Asheville for our 11 year anniversary and planned to go bowling in the evening. The first bowling alley we found had a 2 hour wait but took down our name and phone number to call us with a lane available.

We then called Sky Lanes to check on the wait, In which they told us they currently had a tournament going on and that it would end in 30 min. We asked if they accepted reservations to which they that “they didn’t accept reservations it was first come first serve”. We were 15 min away so we decided to just drive an wait the extra 15.

When we arrived every single lane was taken, 15 min before the tournament was supposed to end. They said it would be a 2 hour wait and we would have to basically stand an watch people play for 2 hours because they didn’t take down phone numbers. There were other people in the parking lot that had experienced the same thing. They never even mentioned the amount of people they had waiting when we called. A the lady at the desk was extremely rude on the phone as well as in person.

We traveled back to the previous bowling alley to wait in the comfort of our car until our lane was ready. The staff is so kind at AMF bowling alley and I highly recommend them...

I was between putting 2 and 3 stars. The 2 stars is because of unprofessional rude management. So we had an 11 year olds BIRTHDAY PARTY. The package was $12 a kid. included an hour of bowling, shoes, and a choice of pizza, hot dog, and grilled cheese i'm pretty sure. But then.... the girls game was cut off/shut down at the one hour mark unfinished. .wish they would have told us that! Oh well.. Ok. Then.. the food comes... the girls chose pizza of course. I wish I had taken a picture of these pieces of pizza. it was so bad they did NOT eat it. Myself personally, i will eat anything.. but just the look of this pizza was like burnt school pizza, left out for a week. i didn't think pizza could look stale just after cooking. We are an easy crowd but my husband had to talk to a manager about the food.. it was unacceptable. Long story short.. the manager was RUDE. Don't get the birthday party package. just eat before you come and bowl. I doubt the price difference is...

Sky Lanes is a great little bowling alley! We were there on a Sunday afternoon for a fun outing on my sister's birthday. We got a lane, with no waiting. A little FYI: on Sunday there are no leagues. While I was there, I saw that they have a nursery for the younger children. There's a video game area to occupy your older kids who don't want to bowl.

Sky Lanes has a great little restaurant. They have a good selection of burgers, sandwiches, chili cheese fries, etc. There's also a bar where you can get beer, wine and mixed drinks.

Sky Lanes is a great little bowling alley, located in West Asheville! They have a nice fast lanes. It's a good place to spend an afternoon with the family!

Sky Lanes is an older, smaller bowling alley. I think that's part of it's charm!
