Update 1/20/2022: Ubreakifix responded to my review with a request that I call in and speak with someone about resolving this issue. After calling and speaking with Anthony on Jan 04, 2022, I was told that my issue would be escalated. I received a reference escalation number and was told that I would get an email about the final decision. I've been without a working phone since and it's very frustrating. I called again today but got bounced from Jasmine to David to Latressa and finally had to hang up because Latressa couldn't hear me due to poor call quality. I would really appreciate having a working phone. At this point, I'd like a refund for the original service so that finally getting a used phone doesn't cost as much as if I had originally purchased a new phone to begin with.
Several hours later I finally got through and had my case examined by the store personnel. The store stated that the internal damage may have been caused when the screen was cracked. It was also reported that there was a diagnostic run and that a work order could not be created without one. I'm not sure why I'm being told that a work order was not created and their customer service was told that a work order was created. Anyways, I'm stuck with the bill and the damage and I will have to get a new phone. It turns out that the cost of repair plus a used phone price will be as much as a new phone. I won't have my devices repaired here again.
Original review: I was initially pleased with this service, but I changed my mind today. I had my phone glass repaired a few weeks ago, and it seemed to work fine until this week when the loudspeaker stopped working. After assessing the phone, UbreakIfix told me that because the original service call did not include a diagnostic, UbreakIfix couldn't cover any damage to the phone that may have happened during the initial service. The phone has worked since I bought it new, so it's hard to believe that the loudspeaker just stopped on its own. It was unprofessional to "fix" a phone and then not run a diagnostic to ensure the phone was working before I picked it up. Not performing a diagnostic seems to be a loophole used to deny service warranty claims, like mine. When picking up your product, ensure that Ubreakifx assesses it correctly so that if the repair causes issues, that Ubreakifix can be held...
Read moreI took my iPad in for repair since it would not charge. It was fixed, but it didn't hold. They said they would have to send it out to FL and it would take 3 to 5 business days. I told them this was a communication device for a child with special needs and please ask to expedite. I made numerous calls to the local store with no updates. They said they would call down to FL and call me back, but never did, not once. Even after speaking with the store manager Jaden, who promised he would call back later that day with an update, nothing. Over a month later (and by then I had to buy another iPad since it was used for communication), I finally got the iPad back with imperfections/dead cells on the screen that were absolutely not there when I dropped it off. I called and spoke with Andrew, who agreed there were no defects on dropping it off. I chose not to bring it back. About a month later, same problem started happening until it got to the point where I had to bring it in. Now they say the iPad is bent and that's the issue, a new issue as to why it won't charge. Well that's convenient and coincidental!!! I keep the iPad in a hard thick case, and it obviously was not inspected on returning from Florida after it stayed there a month and got a damaged screen. I would not notice the frame was bent and did not check it when I picked it up. Anyway I'm here with an iPad that they are claiming the board now has to be fixed? How would they know that prevents it from charging, which is the same exact issue the last 2 times I brought it in? And also stated it looked like we tried to remove the charging port? Yes, your company absolutely removed the charging port last time we brought it in. Now I'm stuck and am so disappointed as I've given this store so much business and previously had better luck. I don't feel like this store is true to it's 1 year warranty and will find reason...
Read moreThe people here are as nice as can be. I was very disappointed they did not honor an appt I had to have a phone battery replaced - due to a recall by the manufacturer. The manufacturer made and confirmed the appt. UBreakiFix was notified of this appt immediately by the manufacturer. I drove 2 hrs one way to make the appt and upon arrival was told they do not honor the appts for the battery replacement, but hand them out to whoever shows up, whether they have an appt of not - because they were being overwhelmed with people needing their batteries replaced. Their suggestion was for me to keep showing up and hoping there would be one when I got there. Completely frustrated by their lack of professionalism and not wanting to continue driving 4 hrs round trip for nothing, I called the uBreakIFix in Johnson City, TN. What a difference on how they treated the overwhelming requests for battery replacements that they were also facing. Rather than taking the easy way out and making the situation more difficult for the customers, they created a spreadsheet of customers with requests for batteries and their contact information. As replacement phone batteries arrived, they assigned them, in order, to those on the spreadsheet. Basically, a first in, first out system. They texted me when "my" battery came in and we set an appt date and time when my battery would be replaced. They followed through on what they said they would do. Logical, organized and...
