Used to go to this place prior to the new management.

Pros: Pedicure (minus the nail painting) was good.

Cons:

  1. the person painting my toes did not know how to paint toes. The nail polish was so blotchy. I asked to redo the toenail entirely but he did not listen and just kept trying to make it better by putting more and more coats on which made it way worse. I needed to call over a differently employee to ask him to help
  2. the woman simultaneously doing my nails didn’t listen to me when I kept trying to ask for her to file a nail more and would just ā€œyesā€ me without understanding. If you don’t know what a customer is asking you need to ask someone who can translate.
  3. THE BIGGEST ISSUE - I had a gift card that I had not used in a while but since they are now using new gift cards, they would not honor it unless I had a receipt. Why would I have a receipt from 2 years ago for a manicure??? The card had written on it ā€œ$24ā€, meaning it had $24 left. There is no way that $24 could have been used because nothing at this salon is $24. I paid for a gift card, and didn’t get my moneys worth. I asked for a discount or something and the manager said ā€œyou get 5% offā€ as if it was a benefit for not honoring the gift card. I was getting 5% off anyway through the holiday promo!

Not good customer service. They will not be getting any more service from me. I miss...

A very dirty salon, where they do not sterilize the instruments and use dirty files and buffs. Absolutely unprofessional manicurists who do not know how to do DIP nails so that it looks natural or at least accurate and same length and shape! The nails are humped and crooked. They constantly file and injure your natural nails, so that they become thin as a film and very sensitive. The behavior of the employees is disgusting - they all just stand around you and discuss you in Vietnamese. And this happens every time, and I have said many times that I will not go to them again, and then tried to give a "second chance" just because of comfort location near my home. Michael is a terrible specialist who allows himself to discuss clients, and who lies to clients about the fact that the nails look so bad because this is such a Brand, and not because their master does not know how to do his job well. The manicure took 2.5 hours of my life, I have never done a manicure for so long and never before the result was so terrible. The salon completely ignored my comments and charged me the full amount (around $75) for something that was not worth paying for at all. This is a disgrace! If you want to ruin your nails, risk your health and have the possibility of catching some disease because the tools are not sterile, if you want to feel humiliated and unwelcome- go...

So upset. Not sure if this place is under new management once again, but I didn’t see one person from my previous visit back in November. First off i had asked for someone specific as I’m super picky with my nails - only to get there and find out she’s no longer with the salon. I had asked for dip and they had no idea what service I wanted like I didn’t say anything over the phone. I wanted a specific design, but I had a gut feeling this was going to be so unpleasant I just decided to stick to one color and get it over with. As Emely (I believe that’s her name) was doing my nails she burn me with the electric nail drill about 15 times! She was also burning my skin when she was filing my nails and kept asking if I was ok because she knew. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks and the way the dip was done was so different. She put two coats of powder and I could see through my nail - it’s so sheer. The color I picked was pretty bold to look the way it does. Of course, I spoke up and I said something and they’re like it will be thicker then but just the thought of her using the nail drill again, i said Nevermind. Then it looks like she used a gel tip coat and my nails do not have a smooth surface. I can see little bubbles. I paid $55, NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. I should have just waited one more day to see my regular nail...

THE WORSTTT…went in yesterday 8/26/22.. i called before going in to get price for a gel pedicure.. i was told $53… I went in and the lady that did it, cut my skin off which hurts so bad, rushed through the process. During when she was scraping my heels she asked if i wanted her to remove the callus, i said yes.. since every nail salon ive been to does that automatically. When she was doing my toes i showed her that my toe had a black mark after she applied the gel polish, she told me that the mark is tiny, that it is barely noticeable.. which was/is very noticeable to me 😩.. she didnt remove it.. when all finished my toes looks horrible. I was polite and respectful thinking that I will never go there again, went to the front to pay.. and the tells me that i have to pay $58, i told her that I called and they told me $53… the starting arguing saying that they charge $5 to remove the callus, which i was never told from the beginning that i would be charged extra for that.. after arguing back and forth, the guy that was next to her said very rude.. just give me $53… i paid and left.. extremely mad.. hours later looking closely at my toes i notice that the gel polish from the smallest toe is peeling off.. i spent $53 on a HORRRRRRRIBLE JOB!! Everyone PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I am VERY UPSET!😩😩😩😩😩

1. I booked the appointment with Michael through the booking portal because I read positive reviews. I sit down, Kevin is doing my nails. Unsure why a customer request wasn’t honored if the option is given. 2. I chose the below picture as inspiration, was told it wasn’t possible so I switched to go for wavy lines instead of flowers. 3. We went with a light blue and a green for each hands base and a dark blue for the lines. Halfway doing the nails, the tech realizes the green isn’t working & has to take all the polish off every finger. At this point, 3 people are now working on my hands. 4. I have been sitting in the chair for 1 1/2 hours by the time we get to the final product photo. No one offers any discounts or concessions for the added time, mess ups and straight up mess my hands have. I’m literally going to a different salon tomorrow to have this removed. I left with blurry lines of the dark blue, stained hands from the dip & an unhappy customer. I’ve never not tipped before but you had various chances to improve the outcome & yet you didn’t. At the end of the day, you work in a customer service industry. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. Paying full price for this horrible manicure is an insult.

I’ve been on the hunt for a new nail salon, and when I saw Base Coat just opened, I had to give it a try, and wow, I’m so glad I did! The salon itself is gorgeous, but what really blew me away was the service. T, Hayden, and Ann were so warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel extra special. I came in for a fill with acrylics and wanted something fun and spooky for Halloween. Normally, I shy away from designs because they never quite come out the way I picture them, but Hayden absolutely nailed it. He checked in with me every step of the way, made sure I loved the look, and brought my vision to life perfectly. What makes this place even better is that it’s family-owned, and you can really feel the care and pride they put into their work. I love being able to support a local business that goes above and beyond for their customers. I left so happy with my nails and the entire experience that I’ve already decided this will be my go-to salon from now on. If you’re looking for a spot that combines talent, friendliness, and a great vibe—this is it. Highly recommend!
