The Lemon Face Experience”
I want to start by saying—I love Goodwill. I’m a loyal shopper. Every state I visit, I make it a point to stop by the local Goodwill. I enjoy the thrill of the find, and I spend my money proudly supporting the mission.
But unfortunately, I have to label this location as the “Lemon Face Goodwill.”
Why? Because after five separate visits, I’ve experienced the exact same thing— No greeting. No smiles. No “thank you.” Just silence, a snatched receipt, and cold energy.
I get that everyone has tough days. But when not one team member across multiple visits can muster a hello or acknowledge a customer’s presence—something deeper is wrong.
A simple smile or kind word goes a long way, especially in a place where people may be shopping during hard times or looking for comfort in the familiar.
So I ask: Is the work more important than the people? Because when you lose connection with the why behind what you do, you lose the soul of it all.
Goodwill is meant to be more than just a store—it’s a mission. Please make sure the customer experience reflects that.

Read moreWent to the Goodwill today, Sunday, September 7 I was there at 11 o’clock when the store open they had a color today when I went into the store. I was the first one there the color was yellow so I proceeded to shop for yellow tickets. All my stuff in my car was yellow tickets. There was people came to the door with me, saw that the color was yellow. I get in line to leave. I was there for two hours shopping. The girl said did you find any red tickets? I said red tickets. The ticket was yellow when I came in. She said oh we changed it to red She said my total was $60. I shopped for yellow tickets that was half off. I thought I’m not paying $60 when I came in the store it said yellow. I left everything there. I should’ve gotten my stuff half off since when I came in the store, The color was yellow. I am very upset at the Goodwill. Other people in the store was also shopping for yellow tickets. They should’ve announced over the speaker that they...
Read moreI love the size of this store in the space that used to be Big Lots. They have a huuuuge (and good) selection of clothes as a result that are sorted and easy to look through. Clothes do tend to be mostly women's. I've also found some great finds in the housewares. I do wish they would post their prices groups like other stores do (ie all tops and bottoms $5.99, all bathing suits $2.99 each piece, glassware $1.99, metal items $5.99 etc) so that it would (a) reduce some of the constant complaining about pricing; and (b) make it more transparent so you can contest an item you know priced on the wrong category (like a pj top which would be $2.99 but is in women's tops and is tagged at $5.99). They also do need to work on training staff that if a store price on a donated item is still there you shouldn't price it above it! But all in all it's a nice clean store, the staff there are always friendly and kind and I've never...
